It's Arlo's fault that I'm addicted to arlo.net and it's the fault of all you Blunderites that I'm addicted to Group W. (that's W. NOT Dubya!) I think I might even be more addicted than the famous Dulcimer player, Cheryl!! Nooooooooooooooooooooooo save me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheryl, believe me when I say that you're famous in the annals of Arlonet. Don't forget to vote tomorrow (early and often), but it won't do any good because the Dems are gonna steal this one like thieves in the night, returning the favor from 2000.

Have to disagree with you on this Mikey... the Dems won't steal this election, though they probably will be accused of doing so.... We'll win this one again, just like we did in 2000... (hopefully with a bigger margin)

Not a "steal,"... but rather a "save."

I hope I phrased that right

I got stopped by a cop once because he suspected me of being under the influence of Arlo. After I showed him that I could go "Walking Down the Line" and sing it at the same time, he let me go.

Reminds me of a shining moment in my youth when I got kicked OUT of a police station ... witnessed them arrest a couple of friends for no good reason, so went in and gave them a piece of my mind ... told me to get out because they didn't want garbage like me in there?!#$#@!!!

When my friends arrived home, said there biggest fear was that I would make them so mad they'd keep 'em in jail for life!

Ahh well. That was then, this is now. I figure I must look like everyone's mother or something--I don't even get speeding tickets anymore. Guess there's something to be said to being "matronly" (to put it kindly) looking.

Arlo is a bad influence on my hens!!!!!!!!!!
My Chooks (OZ for Chickens)live in a dome I built which can be moved around so they can clean up and fertilize my vege beds which are in my house yard,(I live on 6 acres)
close to the house. Well I guess they were a bit TOO close when I played Alice's on Thanksgiving and they've been hatching more than eggs!! Their plan today involved waiting 'til I was gone to work then making AN ES-CAPE by pulling at a bit of broken Chook Wire then pushing through!!(It might have had something to do with all that Turkey eating at Thanksgiving coz I found some placards hidden behind the shed that said "Save The Turkey's Coz When They're All Gone WE WILL BE NEXT!!") And I even remove the darn toilet paper every morning before I leave! Luckily they didn't make it to the Lettuce patch!! So Alfalfa, Buckwheat and Chickpea are back behind wire this evening and I'll keep the volume a little lower next time I play Alice's!

I just blundered onto this thread and it made me realize that Arlo is probably at fault for many of the stupid things I have done and survived. I guess my favorite line was "visine, pepto bismol and Kegels" and I am trying to fit that into the daily conversation in the Corporate Reality world I live in (it has to fit somehow and I think i can pull it off and sound brilliant). As I begin to backward unmask my old Arlo Vinyl can you help me with where to start? I assume its that Psycho-delic Running Down the Road thing! But possibly its that Bling Blang thing, that certainly sounds like something is hidden in there! I feel I must confront these demons and bring closure.
Free the Chooks!

louise, I think your chooks should be made honorary blunderites after that episode with the chook wire. I don't think you should be too hard on them, though; they were probably just looking for the Group M Bench (that's Group W down-under!)

I had seen on the menu in the OUTBACK restuarant once a chook meal. Now I know what it is thanks to Arlonet...

It is with trembling hands I report what has transpired over the past 48 hours. In that time everything has become so clear. Now, I am so confused and befuddled!

The daring escape of the chooks down under made me take notice of the chook wire that permeates my world! Those funky modular cubicles and stacks of papers menacingly lying about that are my work place and dome-icile. I realized that deep inside I must possess the spirit of one of those daring chooks and that I had to dig deep and find that spirit. Make it something real and tangible. I reviewed Joe’s astute observations in search of a key: the sharp objects and the comic books, what does it all mean? I realized that Arlo was providing me with weapons (sharp objects) and simple truths (comic book) to help me find my inner chook and deal with my dark side (pussface).

How could he speak to me as an individual and the masses of other potentially Enlightened Beings. The answer was right there on the Group W Bench! Messages via backward masking! It had always seemed a joke, “I am the Walrus” and Paul is Dead”. Could it be real? I ran to the basement. There, boxes filled with vinyl, those boxes I had cursed while hauling from state to state and house to house, were stacked to the ceiling. I pulled one down and ripped it open. I fingered past the Motown (though curious about what the PIP’s might say backwards). I fingered on past the Velvet Underground (to heavy) and The Fugs (to light) until I found it, Hobo’s Lullaby. My heart was pounding as I pulled it from the box. OH NO! WATER DAMAGE! I fumbled with the inner sleeve (something cosmic there but no time to sort it now, I will say it again though)!!!!!!!THE INNER SLEEVE!!!!

I washed out the crevices and determined the vinyl still to be in fairly good shape. What song held the best secret? Where to start my decoding adventure? I flipped the album again and again carefully scrutinizing the label for an answer. There it was! Shackles and Chains, of course, the chooks escape led me here. It is all too obvious! A long lonesome journey! Free the Chooks! The toilet paper escape. It all made sense.

Images in my head were racing, fueled by cheap scotch and strong coffee, I worked through the technical hurdles of playing songs backwards. Using my best scientific methods, I steered through the myriad of possible settings so I could determine with confidence what Arlo was saying. The ideal setting seemed to be an equivalent of 45 RPM with the bass adjusted hi and the treble adjusted low. I listened over and over focusing on the sounds and putting my self into a trance. Then it emerged as if from nowhere: CHOOKS IN BONDAGE, LET MY CHOOKS GO!”

I fell away from the speakers and Zombie-like staggered to the basement. My daughters voice saying, “what’s the matter daddy” was ghost-like as I pushed her aside to get down the stairs. I stood in front of the stack of boxes filled with vinyl, stretched out my hands and howled, “ARRRRRRLLLLLLLOOOOOOOO!”

Suddenly, an evil grin curled my lips and I felt the dark side breaking through. I grew delirious and began chanting, “Di-gi-tal, Di-Gi-tal, Di-GiTal, DI-GI-TAL. Suddenly, I awoke from a dream. All those years, my dark side had made me squander my child’s financial security to replace my vinyl with these small metal-coated polycarbonate discs. WHY???

I quickly found the digital Hobo’s Lullaby and retraced the steps of unmasking the backwards masking. I played it again and again. The message was gone. The insidiousness of it all! I realized now why Star Wars funding had been so important to the Reagan administration. They needed money to hatch this evil plot of fouling the subliminal messages of the vinyl recordings. Oh, where will it all end!

I began turning the control knobs willy nilly and fell to the floor in tears. The endless loop of the backward playing fouled digital recording of Shackles and Chains pounding in my head. Suddenly I began to hear it. I looked at the controls. I had adjusted the bass low and the treble high. It became more and more distinct as I looked at what I had done.

CHOOKS IN THE POTTAGE
LET MY CHOOKS BOIL

Not only had they removed the original message, they had replaced it with their own! God what can this mean! What are the implications? I began to wonder who else new? The dogs out back began to bark. I peaked out the window and a suspicious man with a cell phone was standing on the corner looking my way. Was PUSSFACE at my door? I had to plan an escape. Hey, what is that sound in the basement? Yikes, its sewer snoids (them suckers make me paranoid). The biggest ugliest snoid has a cell phone. He is instructing the others to smash the vinyl. Hey Wait. PUT THAT DOW****Sploink****Snap******Crash******ZAPsssssssssssssssstaticccccccccccccccccc
