Interesting that you mentioned that, Larry. I was in the supermarket with my mother last week and she bought yams, but expressed the wish that she could find sweet potatos. Apparently she hasn't seen any in a long time...just yams. What have the yams done with the sweet potatos?

well Pat,
honey child,
down here on the farm,
we country girls don't even know what a yam is,

now why don't you just sit down here at the table and let me get you a slice of sweet potato pie I bakes and a glass of fresh milk,

I have been cooling the milk in the spring house since milking the cow this morning and it ought to be right chilled by now.

not sweetie, tell me, just the heck is a yam?

You don't wanna know Pat, it ain't pretty.
The yams and the sweet potatos are involved in a conflict. They have been observing humans for some time, and picked up some of our bad traits. Much like people with opposing views, they don't understnd that they are really the same.

It's a little like swimming in a pool of butterscotch and Baby Ruth candy bars while Dr. Ruth and Cheryl Harrell sit in the lifeguards chair talking over what might be wrong with you.
Does that clear it up any??

And who could forget Al Jolson singing "Yammy" way back in 1927 in the first talkie?

And Debbie Reynolds playing and singing "Yammy" in the 50's?

depends on where your cesspool is located Larry.....To Yam or not to Yam, that is the question.....My only regret is that I have but one Yan to give to my country....fighting for peace is like eating yams for a diet.
