I do not remember ever being in possession of THE braincell, and I am sure I do not have any extras rolling around in my head. We've 2/3rds MADE IT!!!!!, Left Ukiah in a driving rain, Sat eve, rolled into Paragould ARK, this afternoon, showered, waiting for the egg foo young to arrive, then, finish loading Terrys stuff, then on to Mumphis & points south, aiming for Ft Laud, tomorrow night....many stories to be told, all 3 humans, 3 dogs, one cat, doing well, road-weary, but well....btw, SO is alive & well on the superslab......

Bumper; "May I have a lemon slice, for my grits...?" (southern-style grits remind me of crab patte, hence, lemon & butter topping added, by me...)

Waitress;"Ain't got none.."

Bumper; "umm.....tartar sauce..?"

Waitress; "You ain't from here, is ya?"

Bumper: "Nope, neither ain't or is"

It's been three days so even Bumper should be in Florida by now, but there could be a problem, maybe he ran into a floating chad, or hit one of those speed bumps made out of Al Gore votes....who is to say?

I don't think he expected to have Internet access right away. I sure would like to hear, though.

If Bumper is anything like me, he is still confused about the Sunny Dee, The Flordia style is not so good as the California Style and it takes some getting use to.

The Ocean is on the wrong side, there are no mountains, people smoke in Florida, the people are all very very old, no one rollerblades, and there is the matter of getting eaten if you answer the call of nature along the roadway....I think it will be a very long time before we here from Bumper again.

Not to mention...his tendency to underestimate the culture...i.e., how close to Deliverance it could be if he makes jokes about grits.

I'm thinking he asked the wrong person for a lemon slice for his grits..but I hope he turns up alive.

Think about it. A small liberal white guy from California that speaks like a Jamacian and turns his nose up at grits?? How long could this guy have lasted in the deep south....even today?!!?! I'm afraid we must refer to Bumper in the past tense from now on!
