Bumper....you tell smurf she doesn't know you and how dare she make judgements about some things about you....yet you have made judgements about people you don't really know on here all the time and they have been dead wrong.

Let me clear up the "saint" remark too - I was referring to you (and not Shannon at all) with that particular remark, and I did mess up - saint should definately have been in quotes. I was simply trying to make the point that frequenly pointing out how you are ignoring certain things or being oblivious to them (and therby implying that you are "above" those who have the guts to come out and say what they really think) is one of those really fake "saintly" attitudes, and is far worse than people arguing back and forth. At least the arguing is honest and up-front.

We've seen before the strategy of one being fakey-nice while almost everything that person says is rather venomous, and then that person protesting innocence and implying that they are being attacked for no reason. It's nothing new, and rest assured, few around here have any trouble seeing right through it.

Oh, and by the way....in a battle of wits between you and smurf, she isn't the one showing up unarmed. Not by a long shot.

Like someone else on here said, I don't tend to jump on someone without there being good reason first...you did kind of go off somewhat yourself before that. But given the mood I was in the day of my first post, I was probably a bit bitchier than normal for going off on someone relatively new. So....'nuff said, let's move on, right?

That song is my favorite from Shrek - and I love all the songs from it! Of course, I can't listen to it right now....my new stereo - Dave installed it only about 1 1/2 months before - was stolen, and my Shrek cd was in it! Insurance covered, and hopefully the replacement stereo will be all right (it was an open box, but the stereo is not made anymore, and had a feature that I wanted that none of the new ones have, so we went with an open box to get a new one, but we have to wait for one more part before we can try it out....), but it still stinks! And now I gotta get the cd again....bet I'll be a lot more careful about removing my faceplate on the new stereo though.....

I knew you meant me, Kim. I understand...the behavior you described, sounds kinda "passive-aggressive" I'm not like that. I'm human, and subject to all the moods, and sensitivities, of everyone else. I do attempt to practice, what Larry & I have come to call "SELECTIVE obliviosity" so, the degree of selectivity, is chosen, by the obliviositator, just like everyday life. Some days, the newspaper in the bushes, is just a minor annoyance, other days, it warrants a call to the paper circulation manager, same bushes, same paper..selective obliv....& I'm no saint, either day.

I've been a student of Afro-Caribb history & culture, have traveleed extensivly, in the West Indies, and have followed the development of Rasta arts, music, culture and political activities, in Jamaica, the Lesser Antilles, and among Rasta ex-patriots in the US, Canada and the UK.
My Irish ancestors were the 1st "indentured servants" in British sugar plantations, in the east Caribb, in the 17th century ( see. "a sugar plantation culture", by Dr. Lydia Pulsifer, U of Tenn, Cultural Anthropology, 1988) Bob Marley's song resonates, with personal, political & spiritual meaning, to people throroughout the world, even "white middle aged men"
