So here we are - September 2026 already. On this date, September 2, 1969 we signed the papers making the farm ours. I've been here 57 years. Lots of water under that bridge. I don't remember exactly when we moved in, but it didn't take very long. My friends from all over came by and helped us out, cleaning up the place and getting it ready. So it's an anniversary of sorts.

It's essentially the same, and we built it up somewhat, but the scene isn't very different these days. There's a lifetime of memories for which I'm grateful. It's been good.

All of the kids Jackie and I had, have kids of their own - And some of those have kids of their own. I'm a great grand-father at this point. It makes me laugh.

Congratulations on your anniversary of sorts!
We have been in our home for 30 years. Retired now and we finally got everything just the way we like it. Comfy and broken in and full of memories. Like all lives we have had good times and hard times. Happy to have everyday just being here, listening to great music, and cooking good food.

Greetings from Brazil! I have to admit, I hadn't heard of you before; :oops:

folk music isn't very mainstream here, and I always thought of it as a distinctly American genre, similar to how we have regional styles like sertanejo (which is probably our equivalent of country music).
I've been working on expanding my English vocabulary, and one of my favorite ways to do that is through word games. That's actually how I found out about you! Your name was one of the answers in today's Washington Post Daily Crossword.
When I looked you up, I was really glad to see you keep a forum where you interact with fans. I thought you'd like to know that someone discovered you through a crossword puzzle! :lol:

I'm listening to "Alice's Restaurant" right now, and I've realized it's actually a great song for practicing my listening skills because of the "talking blues" style! I actually learned about this style today, along with the difference between folk and country music.
