Oh yes and the look on his face, holding their daughter right after or soon after, is priceless. I have never seen a happier father or one more proud. His face just beamed with pride. WOW!

while where i was growing up, had an interesting cast of characters….i only managed to see two live shows as a teenager, something i appreciated as very rare and special.

one of those was david bowie. i never kept close tabs on his goings on and whereabouts, but he remained someone special in a quiet and dear sort of way with me. i could go on i suppose, but i will keep it brief.
then i remember hearing about him and a woman from somalia, a woman i remember seeing as a model, getting together, which i thought was interesting (hmmm,,,okay) there was so much stuff, i would just filter through…..but there seemed to be a shift. this was all just background noise in my mind, but i did notice a shift. they really seemed happy.

and that little dance he would do. how can you not want to dance too?

my heart goes out to his family and friends, and all us buggers who love him to bits.

That's a really neat idea and especially when you get a whole bunch of them hung up like that. So pretty. I'm just wondering what makes the tinkling noise because CDs are plastic or some such material, right? So where is the glass tinkling sound coming from?

I'd have to go out and buy old ruined CDs to do it because I refuse to destroy anything in my own collection but that would be real cheap to purchase. She doesn't explain what that paint is or where it comes from - what it is usually sold for in stores, does she? I'll have to go translate the page. lol

i think that tinkling sound was just an ambience thing for the video. like you don't hear her drilling the holes, but you see the cat jump every time.

yeah, sometimes you can find CDs at thrifts stores laying around willy nilly that you might not mind using. the video mentions "stained varnish". i do know you can buy special powdered colors to mix with varnish but i wouldn't want to go out and get all these specialty items i might only use once or twice, so i was wondering if something like colored sharpies might do? i am pretty sure i would use them again. i wonder how well certain fingernail polish would do? i don't really use fingernail polish, so i don't know…

i think i would have to grill the people at the art store to try and sort out that golden glooby stuff she outlines with...

http://www.casadaarte.com.br/tinta_dime ... ex_35_ml/p

….to try and find an equivalent.
i would probably grill them about the "stained varnish" out of curiosity as well, you know, tell them the effect i'm looking for.

anyway, they really were pretty, and i love sun catchers.

Oh maybe that is some sort of "stained glass" paint. I think I had a piece that was actual glass and found the color was painted on, not colored glass at all. I bet if you have a Hobby Lobby or other type of hobby store nearby, you could find a kit for painting them. You may even be able to find that at a Walmart or other store like that or a local craft store.

There is one on eBay right now with the title Glass Stain Paint Kit 1 oz jars Transparent Color 12 Stains 4 Brushes 2 Palettes. It can be used on glass or plastic!

And another called NEW Sun Catcher Paint Pots Transparent Glass Ceramics 12 Colors1 Brush which is about 1/4 the price. I bet if you explore the craft area on there you can find that type of pen she uses to outline the designs.

As far as your little wren. I'm glad he or she got out safely, too. Wrens are so cute and sweet. :)
