beverley, i first discovered jimi when i was a kid (maybe ten or eleven?) thanks to a friend of mine, who was actually in his late twenties. it didn't seem at all strange to me, but we probably looked like a cult film waiting to happen. anyhow he had a record collection, and in it was one jimi hendrix album. not this one, but….

oh and…i think it is you who has made me aware of arthur lee? anyway, recently i accidentally stumbled across this….i wasn't looking for arthur lee, but there he was. in fact i didn't know it was him, but it sounded like his voice,,, and it was. i thought it was kinda neat

when I was little my dad used to sit in the dining room with the light off and listen to Hendrix, only just remembered that!?! I asked if I could learn but was told no, so asked if I could learn piano, and again was told no, but was bought a toy electric organ but no lessons??? so when I got my own house bought guitars and a piano but no time to learn. But I said it before they aren't going to rust so I will get round to it one day.

Orange Sky is an Arthur Lee song, but would have to dig out the vinyls to say which album, but then that would make me sad I can't listen to them.

hi beverley, my parents didn't have any records (other than a stray foreign language record or two) and for the most part, no record player.

that song you posted makes me think of a line (a quote) that i heard somewhere sometime, but i barely remember it, wish i could remember it! but means something like: shortcomings (flaws?) are not permanently who you are? ugh! i wish i could remember it!

Orange skies is on 'de capo'

I had a look and saw stuff I had for gotten I owned, a odd, odd mix, Woody Guthrie tribute albums and a Hank Williams all the way through to 'the gray wizard I am'.
