well i don't know? (about the fig tree)  but sometimes it makes you wonder too (since i think we might be on the subject of magic and stuff) about some "magic" being considered by some to be acceptable? lIke if this person does it, it is okay...but if that person does it...it is a sin?

anyway, it would have been another story, i suppose, if he'd "whipped up" as you said, some figs...and maybe even a few fruits of brie ? (instead of killing the tree) really i don't know

them bubble back chairs are comfy
and my recurring fig dreams have me
sitting on the deck of some lazy
river rat boat chuggin' toward Beale street from
somewhere down below where the war was bad once
sittin' on the deck in a bubble back chair
I feel silence all around but realize silence is rare
as I hear the boat cuttin' through the water
where big Jim and Huck might have met their match
in the night with the scattered light on the shore
thinkin' about figs and plowing the big muddy

I can hear in the distance

strange dreams of midnight
cuttin' through the water and
passing peoples parties on the shore
parties or lives or how
they are spending their time
as I just pass by as a light on the water
that is all you see of a boat from the shore
just a light on the water
that catches the eye
for a moment and then
just fades away into the darkness
that is the night on the river

wow, what a great and interesting little tour!

oh god, i had some strange dreams again
I was lying on the deck of a barge
plowing through the river to nowhere i could tell
and I thought
just relax, just let the early morning sky float by
i tried to adjust my body so the tension
would sort of melt away into the unknown
first my head felt unbelievably heavy
and i breathed deeply but that tightened
me up and i had to begin again
then the itching or annoying spot had to be touched
and deep breathing and dissociation of spine and brain
i don't know what it was but
once i loosened up i could feel my heart
just pounding, the only muscles with any tension
pounding, oddly enough then i woke up

sounds stressful...i hope your dreams are less stressful in the future
