A friend of mine had a NDE. She described it as being walled away from her husband who was already dead from an accident they were in, with the often reported bright light and her husband telling her it wasn't her time. My take on things like this is that hyperspace, or the 5th dimension, is actually something incorporated into our brains, like a biological time machine.

Herc told us about his experiences with acid and all that. Many of the rest of us grew up singing "Coming into Los Angeles," so have no right to claim being above the Group W Bench. What if tryptamines actually do have some type of perhaps swelling effect on the hippocampus that leaves a microscopic void or a microscopic black hole in our pineal gland? Is it possible our dreams are woven from stuff out of another time frame? I'm sure at least some of us have had DejaVu's. Are we seeing into a realm that the prophet John once did?

It's ironic you should focus on the Revelation. It's been 40 years since, still that book likely inspired my interest in the Bible. If you do read it, keep in mind that John says right up front that he's seeing this in a vision and that at various points in his letter he defines what he is seeing as "It looked LIKE such and such..." There are many points that prod the imagination, such as "locusts with the faces of men and hair as of women." The question that befuddles the reader is what real world event is being represented by, for example, the rider on a white horse.

When weighing all these things for your own imagination, it is best to realize that there's a strong opposition to theism to begin with. If you ever bring up some points that tend to validate the Bible, the atheist has a learned compulsion to prove you wrong. As is exemplified in this thread, the atheist will sidestep anything that points to such validity. If that isn't enough then the atheist attacks the theist, even if all they pick at is some irrelevant error involving some completely unrelated discussion.

That being said, it's all food for surrealism to the artistic soul. :)

Hmmm... I thought quoting Agnes would have directed the first line back at her.

As for your dreams, do you ever have dreams that either actually happen or something relating to the dream happens?

Some people do. There has to be an explanation and that explanation doesn't necessarily prove the Bible, but it does tend to suggest time travel is at worst possible.

And I'm asking you to use your imagination and think for yourself what it might be validated to be. I've pretty much given much of my opinion regarding what that Hubble shot might evidence.

For what it's worth, I've been using a program to establish the color information about the incoming material. I still need to reduce it to frequencies of light, but as of now it appears the light from the material near the fringes is not illuminated by the plasma jets.

OK....."Some people do." - This sounds reasonable to me.

"time travel is at worst possible." - OK, maybe so.

"There has to be an explanation and that explanation doesn't necessarily prove the Bible, but it does tend to suggest time travel is at worst possible." - Completely lost me here. What do you mean by "prove the bible?" And how does the bible "tend to suggest" {empirically, empirically, empirically!!!} anything remotely related to time travel? This passage makes no sense to me whatsoever. :?

As for NDE's and dreams or visions that actually happen, empirical proof is currently out of the question, although active NMRI in sleep clinics might see that change before long. Time travel in the Bible? How can a vision from the future be anything but that?

We've really gone quite a ways off the beaten track in the thread, but, if you recall the launch post? I meeeeean... that very first post with the pics of forming stars? We were looking at the discussion going there. I hate to say this (really because it's a bit frustrating) but the Jello question needs an answer besides from me.

My first response would be who cares, but you claim to be a physicist. Me second would be there would be no significant difference in the time.
