I'm just wondering if Arlo is compensated for use of his image. I'm betting he doesn't know about it at all. I mean..you don't see any clocks on the Get Stuff table, now do you?

quite true, Pat, good Investigative instincts, there...kinda reminds me of my theory, on "gender-specific" directional sense, I maintain that men, instinctually know N,S, E & West, while women, instinctually navigate by "Here, not here, left & right"...right??

Why I'm shocked at the very idea, Pat. You mean there are actually people out there who would use a celebrity for their own personal gain without any thought of even informing the celebrity in question -- much less renumerating them?

OK, I'll stop being sarcastic. In just a minute ...

Bumper, would that be your explanation of why it's so often necessary to explain to guys, "No, no, no: It's on your otherleft."? Hmmmmmn?

When you come right down to it, I hadn't noticed a male/female divide in such matters either -- but I was on a roll with the sarcasm and it just slipped out.

I don't want to go against anyone's religion or anything, but one way to find out whether or not Arlo knows about it and/or endorses it would be to ... uh ... ask Arlo.

Or RSRHQ, at least.

Al Martinez:
"From L.A. to Cerritos by Way of the Gobi Desert"

The only excuse I can offer is that I had never been to Cerritos before. Like Kuala Lumpur and Alpha Centauri, Cerritos was just someplace out there that I never had an occasion to visit. Then came Sunday and Arlo Guthrie.

With the release of her independently produced eleventh album, The Well, distributed worldwide by The Music Force, Jennifer Warnes delivers a remarkable collection of songs
.
.
.
And those who've come to love Jennifer's Oscar-winning way with a duet will be delighted by her fresh take on the romantic standard "You Don't Know Me," which she sings with Doyle Bramhall, and by Arlo Guthrie's guest appearance on his own "Patriot's Dream."

Television and radio stations across the country have selected that song as an anthem of hope following the terrorist attacks on America this past September. "Sometime last year, I had an inner sense that our country needed a gathering song," Jennifer says. "I was looking for a dignified, unsentimental song for America, like Woody Guthrie's 'This Land is Your Land'." Jennifer's musical intuition about the need for a comforting
"gathering song" was proved right, and Arlo Guthrie's prescient message has provided welcome comfort to a wounded nation.

That's inducted, not nominated. Of course, Dylan's in there, too.
