THE-MEDIA-RIGHT-STORM is what I call The religious rights stone throwing that came out of the 80s. They got everybody throwing stones at each other, of personal matters. Its fruits showed up in 1994 right when my social conscience awoke. I see the TV Preachers, who loved Reagan, for it all went hand in hand with their prosperity theology bullshit. BS like Reagan preaching about Family Values, while it took 2 incomes just to come up shot by the end of the month.

The Church Hospitals were not out to make a profit. They were out to provide needed Health Care. And Reagan screwed the people over in more ways than are worth saying to someone who may never end up being aware of anything but the love of money as you.

Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that.
There's a black granite wall in Washington D.C. that bears 58,260 names on it. All of those whose names are carved on that wall are dead. For what? Freedom? If this country had listened when kids were screaming to stop that slaughter, that wall would have been one hell of a lot shorter. Yet we as a nation still wage wars of choice. War encouraged by pluotcrats. Peace is never discussed. Peace has somehow become a pejorative. Peace is no perjoritive. Peace is essential to the survival of the human race. Those who advocate for war are a dangerous and fearful group who should be marginalized and disavowed. War is always the last choice.

The dirty fucking hippies were right!

Now the oceans have been rising and warming. The polar ice is melting at alarming rates. The climate is changing in irreversible ways. Our survival as a species is on a precipice. The science on this is clear: Humans are now in trouble..... because of our reckless stewardship of what we dominate. We have polluted this fragile jewel that hangs in space. Our only home. The food we buy is contaminated. The toys we give our children as presents for christmas are tainted with poison. The water we drink is rife with carcinogens. The fish in our seas, lakes and rivers are so full of mercury that it is only recommended we eat them once per week. We have now come face to face with our own extinction. I hate to say we told you so, but...

the dirty fucking hippies... were right!

We've elected sociopath after sociopath for the last 30 years, to every level of government. Many of them slaves to corporate parasites that gorge themselves at the public trough while the most vulnerable people in our society: the sick, the young, and the elderly go wanting. Billions of dollars in profits are being snitched up at the expense and suffering of our neighbors by the jackals that comprise our pharrmacutical companies and insurance companies.

Both of which pipe their diagnostic wisdom and their faux concern right into our homes via teevee and radio commercials. These legal drug dealers now sell their wares with impunity and the insurance gamblers perform a slick game of 3 card monty right in our living rooms. Most of these drugs have a list of caveats that would make even the most dishonest used car salesman blush. And the insurance hustlers change the rules of the game when it's time for them to pay up.

Profiting from the suffering and pain of others. Profiting from human frailty. Universal Healthcare? Too expensive, we were told. Gasbag talking heads on teevee and radio have been complicit in this deception while being handsomely compensated for their assistance.

I'll say it again:
The dirty fucking hippies... were right!

Big Box discount stores descend upon small towns in America like alien ships filled with cheap products, bought at low prices, from countries that pay their workers slave wages. Plutocrats love this business model. Mom and Pop shops can't compete with the prices set by these huge corporate parasites. and to no one's surprise many small businesses in these tiny hamlets fail. Leaving small towns filled with empty store fronts and even in some cases forcing these former small business operators to go to work for the very people that ruined their livelyhoods. Small town America is subsequently decimated by this invasion. Often helpless in stopping it.

Wall Street has cannibalized itself. Still hungry, feeling the pangs of their greed, they've now come to the government for their daily meal. And still, without a hint of irony, a spokesman for this ravenous tribe, mounts a soapbox and has the temerity to rail against the evils of socialism. Turns out, the socialism is for them, the capitalism is for us. Abbie Hoffman once baited these bansters by throwing cash onto the floor of the NYSE.

To no one's astonishment, they demonstrated their insatiable greed. The gluttons couldn't help themselves, they stopped trading and got on their knees to sweep up the free loot. Wall Street should have been reigned in long ago.

The dirty fucking hippies... were right!

Do you know that Jefferson called Adams a hermaphrodite right? I know it was before your "awakening", but stone throwing is as old as stones.

You are wrong. Hospitals have ALWAYS been for profit. What they DID with their profits is what bothers you, like most other communists.

You know nothing of what I love, you are just a miscreant posting in a forum. If you wish to know, then I will tell you: freedom & liberty. Basically the antithesis of your belief system.

This is the tactic of the left, of the communist sympathizer. He cannot refute anything I have said, he just starts with the name calling. Just like Nazi fascists. Thanks Kevin.

You're making this way to complex. This is not a "tactic," and has no ideological affiliations. It is simply a universal human reaction when confronted by obnoxious jerks. Even if we agreed upon every issue you'd still be an obnoxious jerk.

It's not complicated, you come in here, you read my opinion, you can't reply with anything substantive, and so you resort to an ad hominem attack. Not complex, just typical of fascists.

Oh what I call ''THE-MEDIA-RIGHT-STORM'' started lots of stones to be thrown by people who during the 80s had been minding their own business. Those dark days of the late 90s, caused by the fruits of the 80s bs, are long passed, so am not going to bother to explain to someone who calls himself a greedy capitalist.

Oh Lennon said that about a a society run by the insane. It was just a copy and paste off The Dirty Fucking Hippies were Right video.

But I will add that Reagan starting to break the Unions...added much to the fruits of THE-MEDIA-RIGHT-STORM exploding in 94... to go along with there being no good IBEW Wiring to be done.

I've got nothing against capitalism per say, as long as it doesn't profit at what ever the cost to mankind or mother earth, as the last 3 decades or more of it, it has run amuck. But I am more of a Unionist, since our founders tried to perfect a more perfect Union. There were some great non union companies in Massatack back in the day. Wang and Digital were great to work for. Both built their buildings Union also. Not sure why Wang went under. Digital went under for them not seeing the wave of the personal computer coming. But if all companies were like that, Union s would never have been needed.

I like reading how the 1st saints held all things in common. Lennon sang well about that with Imagine a Brotherhood of mankind sharing all the world. Even he knew we would always have personal things. If we were founded on we the people as a untied nation, if we can't right now unite on States having single payer, lets be honest as George Carlin's sums up, ''We the corporations have bought and paid for you govt with you the people's money.'' Perfect FASCISM.

But we can give The Tea Party credit for bringing to light, Govt. spending more then they bring in. Yet Ron Paul has said that the TP leaders had sold out the people. But when we start gong after Teacher's pensions....looks like the Police and Fireman's pensions are next. Thanks in huge part to the Multi-national Fascist Corporations who take the profits out of town at midnight, and also drove many small businesses out of business.

During the 80's.. So during Reagan's entire tenure then.. You do realize his Presidency ended in 1989 right? So I can only deduce that you mean his presidency was fruitful, until Bill Clinton came to power in 90's. Oh, if only you would explain it to this poor greedy capitalist.

Ok and?

Reagan broke PATCO because they went on an ILLEGAL strike, basically shutting down the nation. I know that sounds like romance to an OWS type, but explain that to a single mother of 3 who relied on the economy to feed her children.

Even your precious coops use labor and materials to make profits. Grow up.

You do realize unions have never been the majority of the workforce right? In fact, during the "Golden Age" of postwar WWII, they were less than 35%. Unions do have a role in an economy, for sure, but not in the way you describe. Nobody until recently, ever accepted the idea of public unions as a good idea, and I certainly do not. If I had my way, they would not be allowed.

A united nation of STATES. Our founders would have gone to war to prevent a tyrannical federal government forcing a single payer system on all the states. During our founding, states were more sovereign, in a sense like the states in the European Union are today. They were basically each allowed to govern themselves within a very loose framework of the Constitution. The Federal Government was purposely not designed, nor empowered to do such things as are being tried today. They understood that each state working towards its best interest was a better idea than a huge bureaucratic leviathan dictating from afar. If a state like Vermont wanted to start a single payer system, within the confines of the Constitution, it was well within its rights to do so, and it was barred from requiring it from any other state. If you did not like it, you could move to a state that did something different. If one state saw something working great in another, they would institute it in their own. If they saw it fail, then they would not. It was really a great system.

The only way business buys government, is when government is introduced into business via regulation. If government stays out of businesses interests, then business has no need for them.

OOOOh, the big evil boogieman, the corporation. You know, they used to use the same kind of scare tactics about black people. Keep demonizing a minority of the public and you are no better than white supremacists, Nazis, or any other fascists that have ever existed. I would like you to know that I am an owner of a corporation, but most nights I just go to bed because I am too tired to go out raiding, so don't be afraid.

I have nothing against pensions for teachers, fireman, or police. We are their employers, so vote to give them that. That is not what is happening now. What happens today is, the unions who represent them, bargain with the people they financially support in elections. Most unions give heavily to Democrat politicians, who if they win, will also be sitting at the bargaining table when it comes contract time, or even worse, are already at the table looking for their vote to be re-elected. Talk about conflict of interest! That is why, even the great socialist FDR was against public unions.

A friend and I at a company I used to work for, went ahead and organized a union (teamsters). It was hard, grueling at times. I had the full force of that company against me. I thought I was fired almost every second during that time. I had to walk a line being careful not to break a bunch of laws I never heard of before. You know what? I would not have had it any different. When we sat at the bargaining table, it was honest. Those who represented the company, were there acting in their self interest, just as we were working for our self interests. We came to an agreement and shook hands. Funny... Thinking back about it now; I am so surprised nobody from the company drank the blood of my children in the middle of the night..

You are a pork pile of bs. Unions along with small business built an ok middle class. Now, all 3 of them do not exist, thanks to YOUR GOD Reagan who let the Multi-national's destroy communities.

Either join the 21st century, or go walk on the sun. But make sure you do that at night.

The GI Bill after WW2 put many through Collage. Ike built Highways. The Space Program, along with our Defense, ''helped'' produced all this cool Tech stuff we have now.

Really? Because the FACTS prove you wrong:

That's a Harvard produced graph by the way, using statistics instead of fairy tales.

Ha! Your commune mentality is from the stone age. It is YOUR ideas that are from the past. They are just recycled garbage from the trash heap of history. It is unabashed freedom and liberty that are the cutting edge ideas. You sir, are stuck in an age of serfs and peasants.

Do you have any idea why these highways were built? Because "evil corporations" and the military wanted them.. Here is an actual SOURCE:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_Highway_System

Quote:
The Interstate Highway System had been lobbied for by major U.S. automobile manufacturers and championed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who was influenced by his experiences as a young Army officer crossing the country in the 1919 Army Convoy on the Lincoln Highway, the first road across America.

Initial federal planning for a nationwide highway system began in 1921 when the Bureau of Public Roads asked the Army to provide a list of roads it considered necessary for national defense.

Defense is one of the few areas the federal government is constitutionally assigned to. And as for the G.I. bill, I am all for it. I think it is much better than spitting on them like your kind did in the 60's and 70's.
