I am seriously of the same opinion Eileen, as I live in Florida which elected Rick Scott as Governor. Anyone who looks at his picture and is aware of his policies would have to come to the same conclusion!

I concur...what I wrote was not a diatribe supporting the Democratic Party, either. The two party system does not work...the Tea Partiers are a disaster, and what bothers me the most is the total lack of caring on the part of the Republican Party...there's a total lack of regard for the human condition, and seemingly no shame in what they've done to The People. It is becoming a nation of haves and have nots...and if you're low income or on the side of Have Nots, you're basically screwed, because the social program safety nets are being dismantled, one by one by the Republicans. Your kids are hungry because you got laid off when your job went to someone in a third-world country? Can't find any work? You can go pound sand; no food stamps or welfare for you! Lost your home in a recent flood, and need assistance? Too bad, your state does not want to extend you some FEMA benefits. You have a critically ill child, and no insurance? Sorry, no care for those with no insurance, because there's no program to cover the bills for those who can't pay. Guess you better go shop for a coffin, because some fat cat in Washington decided that people don't really need those benefits if they can't afford to pay for them out of pocket. Oh, you're jobless through no fault of your own? Then you get what you deserve...nothing.
I was raised and taught that it was a responsibility to give back to my community and to charitable organizations, which I have done and still do. It's a good thing, to help someone else/help another living creature when there's nothing in it for you except the satisfaction that you gave a helping hand when it was needed. Obviously, some of those people in the Republican Party skipped that part of their education, and have calloused hearts and feelings; a total lack of compassion for their fellow man, and have little caring for those less priviliged than themselves...it's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, and protecting the source of the cash...it's disgusting. Neither party is doing a good job right now; we need something else so Congress doesn't have total gridlock like now; currently it doesn't matter what comes up. If it's something Obama-related or Democratic party related, the Republicans are going to block it, so absolutely nothing gets done; it's just a total waste of time and a lot of those people in Congress are a waste of space.

something i was thinking about...back there mentioned about clinton who had the budget balanced (with surplus) then enter the bush administration and i don't think i really need to say what happened to the budget after that...but anyway, somewhere in back of my mind ...and i don't fully understand everything about it...but tugging at the back of my mind something about clinton signing into law some banking deregulations, which i think the republicans wanted too, but i am not too sure that was such a good idea? (perhaps not THE problem, but perhaps in concert with other ones?) anyway, like i said, i don't fully understand it but it was at the back of my mind and i felt compelled to mention it.

thanks eileen! yes, i did do a search to try and understand more about the subject i was remembering (i really don't think i knew about it when it happened (when it was signed into law), but some time while bush was in office heard about it mentioned in one of them discussions people have sometimes) but anyway, to try and understand a little more about what i was remembering...and came across a couple few articles (oddly enough, not the one you posted) and there seemed to be much divided opinion over it so i am like, okay, i will try to pick up on it later then...

so yeah thanks! the article at first glance anyway, seems a bit more straight forward and since i am not really all that knowledgeable on the subject, i appreciate that.

I thought it was interesting that the first article that popped up for me was from a socialist site -- and a pretty good one, at that. But now I'm wondering what Google knows about me, versus you, that led them to direct me there and you elsewhere...h'mmm...a person could develop paranoia over stuff like this.

eileen, i am not sure the exact words i used to begin with, but i imagine they were at least pretty similar to the ones you used. i was coming in at a hell of a wide angle i know that, and used a skeleton of a search to be sure.

i don't know...maybe it did come up first and i just looked past it...maybe i just got an attitude on the spot and said, "i don't care if you're first, i ain't clickin' on you!" it is more likely though that something else caught my eye instead for whatever reason. (i was completely unaware of the terms glass steagall act and gramm leach bliley act until this discussion about it all)

you are going to have to cut me some slack kid! it has been one of them weeks! let's just say, "here is a nod to poison ivy, she put the amps in cramps!" (i know it is corny but you know what i mean?) i always say to myself that i should swear off trying to communicate on this thing when i am feeling like that, but i always seem to come in here bumbling anyway....i guess i like the distraction when possible!

all this is to say, don't feel too paranoid about it? (i am not inclined to think we got vastly different search results although i could be wrong, but it is not unusual for me to not go in order of results, and at this particular time particularly, while not experiencing a hell of a lot of clarity!) but i am here gnawing on a cast iron skillet as we speak, so i should perk up in no time!
