Good selections. I had Skip A Rope in my sets when I first started playing. The country writers were ahead of the curve. Ray Charles Modern Country was way ahead. The musicians were out there trying. Some still are.

The Jimmy Webb version of Galveston is a heart breaker. The Glen Campbell version was in it's day. I found the Webb recording a while back and marveled at the intensity of it. Campbell considered it his one protest song. For Webb, it seemed to be simply the stark sadness of it at the personal level. For all the marching and fighting, the hurt is personal. The scars are personal. I think I would have bagged Bush myself to stop what he did to us. It was plain as day what was coming, what a mistake it would be, and yet we did it all again. I still don't get that.

I made this as ugly as I could. It does not stand up to those songs, but it was what I had: despair that they might come for my son. And that I wasn't prepared to let happen.

the first time i tried and the sound went out i was like, what?...and waited to try again later...but then came to realize it was just how it was...tried again but it just generally crapped out...then again with the knowledge that it WILL be mostly silent and said okay...and it is so worth watching...thanks for posting it!
