Social Insecurity No. 1: Big Star Miffed! Well, exactly how many roads does a man have to walk down before they . . . recognize him as Bob Dylan? Hardly obscure, the famous songwriter found he was not well-known enough among the under-40s who were providing security for a recent concert date in Medford, Ore.

They wouldn't let him into his own concert.

Turns out the guards had strict orders not to allow anyone backstage without an official credential, and Dylan, who most likely knows who he is these days without a formal ID, didn't have one.

Dylan had specified, through his security director (wow, a man with his own personal security director!) that there were to be absolutely no exceptions.

So when this wigged-out-looking, skinny old guy with strange hair tried to walk through a backstage checkpoint, the guards stopped him. Had this happened to Arlo Guthrie, there probably would have been a funny song from it and a good laugh.

Dylan and his security director insisted the guards be tossed out.

They were.

I'm happy to report he is still around alive & kicking. He did go into a low sugar attack last nite (when you're in one it causes you to forget stuff while you are in it & become disoriented) & thought Arlo was Bob Dylan & Dylan was Arlo. He kept saying he knew Bob Dylan. I had to tell him no that was Arlo you know. I gave him a donut to bring his sugars up & he went back to normal quick. Wow...
