It's true that shit makes the flowers grow, and I too have long admired that song. But, it begs the question, "If shit makes the flowers grow, why doesn't the Garden of Eden exist between the ears of George W. Bush?" :?

At the horse rescue stable, in the early spring we made flower bed shapes with bricks, dumped wheelbarrows full of stall cleanings (manure, wet wood sawdust and some old hay) to fill, and let it sit a couple of months to settle. We planted squash in there, and after the squash wore out it's welcome (just how much zucchini can people use, anyway???) we planted flowers. We've got a huge, beautiful display of zinnias and morning glories! Not bad for loads of poo and shavings!

And if you dig down past the flowers...that stuff is all just nice garden soil now!

We used to have a manure pile, until an organic gardener discovered we had it...he brought in a loader, scraped it all up into his truck over a two-week period and took it all home, where it's now growing veggies. He's supplying some of the grocery stores with locally grown organic veggies.

Looking at a video I came into possession of, I saw that Sue is the flower lady for the Guthrie Center. And right good at it.

Ya gotta remember, us non-urban Blunderites don't know these things. Y'all need a set of your own Blunder Cards (with or without the candy gum) so we can tell who the players are.

Yep, I know shit...the horses make more, every day!

When we lived in Torrance, CA (Aug. 1980-Dec. 1987) we had a plum tree in the back yard. We also had several pet English Angora rabbits in the back yard. Some of the cage cleanings were deposited around the plum tree and other bushes...and we had bumper crops of huge, very sweet plums!

Folk Uke will not be doing any shows with the family tour... We're too bad, but thanks for caring. :-)
