I didn't vote for "change" for nothing, did I? It seems to me that between giving ground on the ridiculous "death panels" issue, and now playing grabass with the "public option" provision, there's not going to be any meaningful health reform any time soon. If these guys are so damn afraid of not getting re-elected, we don't need them.

The Democrats need to grow a set, and soon. We've had crap shoved down our throats and up our behinds for 8 years, now we've got the votes but we lack the cojones to make any progress.

No wonder why people lose faith in the system. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! :x :x :x :x :x

I'm with you, Mikey.

At the risk of shameless self-promotion:
"Take the dirty GOP and the spineless Democrats,
Put 'em both together and you've got Republic Rats."

The bastards are in corporate America's pocket! And the majority of the dumbass American public is stupid enough to be led by the nose. These guys are laughing all the way to the bailed out banks! And the misled helping them!

Your are seriously right Mikey. Obama needs to utilize the same massive kind of push that propelled his campaign. The republican and blue dog desparados have dusted off their swift-boat strategy from '04, and the media are reporting what people think about the plan, not the plan itself. Opinions, rather than facts, have become the news. :|

Republic Rats, I like that one?

No seriously, what statement are you making when you start carrying guns to political events? Are people going to start carrying guns to concerts and sporting events? Churches and schools? Who or what are thinking about shooting?

INquiring minds want to know?

(oh wait, maybe recent history answers some of these questions)

Hey I'm dancin' down the street

Intimidation, if they're thinking of anything at all. Extremely poor judgement. I think that the biggest statement they make is that they're moronic assholes. One thing (among an infinite number of others) that they may not have considered is that if they keep up the "in your face" with their guns, it might move more people to the left.

Wait a minute, PS and I agree on something.

Wow!

The old admins fear tactic at work again. They are gonna kill granny, show them your guns. Carry them as close as you can to the president, because you can. (in a way similar to yelling fire in a theater)

This is the same old crap. People listening to the gop spew lies that are meant to protect their profits. These people who believe the lies, puppet what they hear.

We need to look at the big picture in health care. What we have, and what is good and bad about our current system.

We need to do this right the first time.

I just heard about 9-12-09 on MSNBC last night. I'm sure it will get plenty of coverage, and that just might be a good thing, as Zap said.

Totally off topic: It really frosts me every time there's a march in DC and they get lots of coverage, because Wyld and I went to one that had a MILLION people--truly a million, not just a wish for that many, as in the million-man march. Ours got next to zippo coverage. Why? It was about women's rights and was during Dubya's first term.

The guns at rallies are another example of the same techniques used by the brownshirts in Germany and Italy. It is fascism.

This is bad. In a citation at Taplin's blog, one commenters cites a book showing the cases where when a major financial crisis hit the world lending markets, the lendors (who lose money but get by) retain their democratic ideals. The debtors (who default and can no longer get loans) become fascist.

Those guns at rallies are a very bad sign. We need to put our resources together to counter this fast particularly among our young. We've seen this movie before. In the run up to WWII, the Bunds were well on their way.

Who's got flowers?

Women's Rights, ya right, women have the right to stand a few paces behind their gun slinging man! When I snap my fingers you better get your biscuits in the oven and your buns in the bed!

Ain't that America
