Thanks! She's not uncomfortable, she's got good drugs, and she's ready to go.
Yesterday, my sister brought her African Gray parrot, Stewie to visit Mom. Mom loved Stewie, and he learned a lot of things to say from her...he also learned how to cough like her. He makes people think he's got serious respiratory problems, but to him, a person's cough is just another thing to imitate.

Anyway, Mom seemed to enjoy his visit, and Stewie spent about half an hour sitting in her lap...very unusual for this extremely active young bird, who is mostly imprinted on my sister. I'm pretty sure he knows what's going on.

Sue, I know we haven't met but I also send you prayers and heartfelt sorrow for you and your family are going through.
My Mom just turned 80 this year and she Has Congestive Heart Failure, and other issues and I feel so bad for her. She is also is ready to go.
My Dad passed away when he was 62, (wow! Arlo's age.)
He was too young to die.
My mom says she has had a good life, and is ready to go to my Dad. When it dose happen my hope is with both our Mothers die with Dignity and Peace they deserve.

Sue, my heart goes out to you. When I lost my dad, I just had to let the process happen. The hospice people were really comforting, and made impressions of his hands for all of us. I treasure them.

as devestating and difficult as the time was... holding my Dad at hospice as he passed was one of the most remarkable and special moments of my life....
may you find some memory in this time that will bring you comfort...

I'm going to Tampa early Monday morning; the 20th is mom's 86th birthday. When I booked the tickets a month ago, she was at home, still mobile, and doing well...such a difference in that time!. I'm not sure she's even going to know I'm there; at this point I'm going down to give my sister some respite; she's been shouldering most of the responsibility in looking after mom, and she's spent a lot of nights at the Hospice center. My turn.
I re-worked iTunes and put it on my new laptop, and added a good part of my CD collection. I've got a lot loaded on my iPod that Mom would like, so I'll make sure she'll get to listen to some music while I'm there.

Have a good trip. More prayers just said for your Mom & you. I thought I'd never want an mp3 player. But after finding out my car had where you could plug an mp3 player in it, I got one & now have 3. One for my Gospel music, esp the stuff on dulcimer. One that takes sd cards and I can swap out music & have more than what the player holds and a video one for having oldies videos from YouTube and fanfiction on it. The one with gospel stuff Mike got for me for $18 on sale. The video one was on sale cheap at Big Lots and the other one was $4.99 at Ollies Discount Store. Mike sure loved his music & I know it helpd him after getting diabetes. I think your mom will like the music. Vibes just sent...

I've heard that music still reaches a person when nothing and no one else can. Your Mom is gonna love the music, Sue, whether she's able to show it or not!
