Does anyone have the link to ADG's "Friends" page that replaced his Facebook page? I had a link to the Facebook page, and I thought I was supposed to be "migrated" to the new one, but when I click on the link, all I get is MY home Facebook page.

:?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

It's complicated. First they (facebook) said there was too many people so I should start a fan page. Then I went to do that and they said I couldn't start a fan page until I could prove I was me. After a couple of weeks, they created a fan page, migrated everyone on the friends to it, and I published it. But instead of folk communicating on the fan page, everyone keep writing on the friends page, so now I had to start checking two pages. So I was going to delete everyone on the friends page (as they were already on the other), and keep it for family etc. But I could only delete one person at a time. With 5,000 people that's waaay too much work. So I sent word that it would be great if they could find some way to include a 'delete all' kind of thing, or come up with another solution.

I thought I'd just simply deactivate the friends page and use the fan one, but it keep telling me there was an error and to click some link, that basically takes me back to and reactivates the friends page. On top of that, when I try to go to the fan page, it also reactivates the friends page.

They also said they would give me a easy to find link like 'www.facebook.com/arloguthrie'. But I can't check to see if they've done it without a successful attempt reactivating the friends page. It's more than a catch 22 - It's NUTS!!!

So, anyway, try that link and see what happens. If nothing happens, they either have not created the proprietary page, or deactivating the friends page also deactivated the fan page. Like I said, It's complicated - and I'm off for a week or so. I'll let them figure it out. Until then, arlo.net works!!!

I was wondering late last night if it was just me and I had managed to be the first person to be kicked off the island for bootleggin'... used to be the family business. :o

Soon, everything will be put into social networks and as any service in the cloud, if it rains it will pour. We thought Obama would be Akenaten. Turns out, he's going to be Noah.

I hear a song in that too somehow.

Just how did you prove to the officer it was you?

BTW, what type of acoustic did you play in Alices movie, always wondered.

I'm feeling quite like the weirdo here, because I'm not having any trouble getting to the page and the link appears to be:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Arlo-Guth ... 1584073285

I was not, however, a "friend" before this -- I was in the queue of people being told "Arlo has too many friends" (what a horrible way to put it...).

I did find the page a little confusing at first -- I wrote on the "wall" and my writing disappeared; then I discovered it was on the "just fans" page along with everyone else's.

What I find particularly funny about all of this is that Arlo is described as an "other public figure," rather than "musician"...

Glad to hear it's still going! Thanks for the link :) ... also I'm the one that decided to be 'other' because I thought it would be funnier. Right so far ...

The link got me there. A search using "Arlo Guthrie" got me back to the original personal page which is apparently working again.

Weird. Web services aren't supposed to be this convocated.

I hope they didn't make him do "Alice's......"; that would be serious proof though, better than a fingerprint. I mean, how many people in the world can do that??? :? 8)
