Happy Birthday, Wyld! Now I know why I've been craving chonklit before 9:00 AM! Hope you have a great day planned, and that the year ahead is as wonderful as you! See ya at Woodyfest, I hope!

Happy birthday, Wyld! In your honor we had several bites of chonklit brownie "cake" with pecans and caramel.

Thank you, everyone for the birthday wishes!

My celebration started yesterday with a couple of girlfriends and a full day of my favorite shopping (flea market, thrift stores). We ended the day with dinner at Mimi's... unfortunately, my dinner didn't agree with me, or I caught a very sudden and fast-recovery kind of virus. (tummy trouble and severe dizziness - almost passed out.) My friend brought me home to my daughter's house, where a pot of tea fixed me right up. It was a great day, except for the hour or two that I spent feeling sick. I'm amazed though that it was gone so fast!

Today was much better, though. I spent time with my daughter and granddaughter. We went to the McAllister House Museum.... LOVE the Victorian style. We were the only ones touring the house, and got a personalized guided tour.... including being allowed beyond the red ropes into each room, and being allowed to touch some of the furnishings. It was fascinating! This is the oldest house in Colorado Springs that is still standing... built in 1873. Then we went to La Creperie for Crepes aux Framboises... raspberry crepes. YUM!

All in all it was a great day, and a terrific way to celebrate three years since my arrival in the Springs! And now I'd better go, because there's a thunderstorm brewing... it's off to my front porch to watch the lightning over Pikes Peak!
