Ten years ago today, I heard the words no one ever wants to hear, "You have breast cancer." My life was instantly thrown into a sort of surreal chaos, full of fear and uncertainty. I couldn't think 10 days ahead, let alone 10 years ahead. The cancer was caught early, at Stage 1, and after having a lumpectomy and 6 1/2 weeks of radiation, it's never been seen since. Back then, when this experience was all new, I needed all the support I could get. These forums were a lifeline to people I loved all over the planet. Some of them were people I knew personally outside of these threads. Some were people I had only met here. And there are those I have only met since then. All of you, wherever you are and whenever you became a part of my life, were and are an important part in my recovery and continued good health, and have helped me to reach this milestone today. The 10 year mark is a big one! Thanks, everyone!

I wasn't here for any of that, as I just joined a few months ago. However, I'm glad to hear that you have been free of cancer since. That's really amazing, and happens to so few people. I hope you remain in good health for many more decades to come.

Congratulations Judy!!! My sister was just recently diagnosed, had the lumpectomy and finished the radiation treatments about a month ago......everything is looking positive for her now. She was also stage 1. So best wishes and vibes sent out to you and her.....again, congratulations!!! ---Kevin
