Yikes! A lot can happen when I don't check the forums for a couple of days! Glad the storms abated, Louise!

Your weather got bounced to Istanbul! Yesterday we had 88kph winds all day. The ferries were closed down, just after the Bhakaroo and I went across. It was like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. The waves were so high that the ferry couldn't dock properly, and they had a chain of men lifting everyone off the boat and onto the pier. We had to make a human chain so that people didn't get blown into the water. Ended up having to spend the night at a friend's place since there were no boats going back to our side of the city until this morning. 2 ferry terminals were literally ripped off their concrete bases and are completely gone. Masses of trees down, and many roofs were airborne. Today the weather is nice and calm, with lovely blue skies.

Wow--we didn't MEAN to send the storms to Istanbul. I guess we need to consider the consequences more carefully when we send storm Blundervibes.

Glad that you and the Bhakster are safe!

Next time we all send Blundervibes, I'm ducking!
The up side is that after yesterday's ferry ride, the Bhakaroo doesn't want to go on roller coasters anymore.

Been away from the board a few days and didn't hear about all that. I am glad that everybody is ok and hope there will be no further terrible storms on the way. But with the weather changing that probably is wishful thinking. Heard in the news about an really unexpected snowfall in Australia. Is that anywhere near you, Louise?

No I'm in the sub tropical SE corner of Queensland. That was down in the mountains in the snowfields in NSW.
