I don't know about that; I like reading this forum (when it's active). I just don't know the answers (except Little Feat, but I was too late for that), except via googling which is cheating, i think, sort of. So I could name the source of your most recent quote, but only because I googled it...and someone else who actually knows it should have a chance. If nobody answers, maybe something a little less obscure?

Yes! Good job on Steve Goodman's "Moby Book". I saw him open for Joan Baez in (about) 1975 and that's been one of my favorite SG songs ever since then.; he was great. It's funny; I actually thought that would be the one that would stump people.

The other one is less obscure as a song, although perhaps that particular verse is not quoted often. It is from the first "hit" song by a singer/songwriter who appeared on "MASH" for a time and the first line of the song is "Crossin' the highway late last night, he shoulda looked left and he shoulda looked right..."
