did any of you notice that the republican candidates are from the 48th and 49th states to enter the union... and the democratic candidates are from the 50th and the first states?
(uh-oh... now I've gone and done it... started the 'anti-christ' rumor mill, with the alpha and omega)

And I've noticed that it's REALLY hard to know whether the news clips I've been watching are actually Sarah Palin, or are they Tina Fey....

Is that the "Twilight Zone" theme I hear?

As to whether it's Tina or Sarah, that's easy--just notice, when you see the clips, whether you laugh or gag uncontrollably ...

For some reason, I keep referring to her as Tina Palin... I usually can't tell the difference, unless I see pics of them side-by-side.

Right after the primary, I read David Mendell's book From Promise to Power. It nicely captured the highlights of both Dreams of my Father and The Audactiy of Hope. Further it took a journalist viewpoint of Obama's rise from community organizer to presidential candidate. I saw the book in the bookstore out in front the other day and that reminded me how helpful that book was for me in coming to understand Barack. What I admire about him most is his intelligence.

I have not seen anything substantial on Palin. Is there anything substantial about Palin?

I have yet to find anything substantial on Sarah Palin. However, there is a news piece that hit the airwaves last night that had her explaining what exactly the VP does. For those who have not seen/heard it, try to find it on one of the news channels-it would be laughable a la Tina Fey, if it wasn't so scary!!!!!
In a positive note, my oldest daughter (5 yrs) is learning all about the political process and what a President does....this election has been a great teaching tool (former special ed teacher) for my kids and how NOT to run the country!

Since I will be the grandfather of identical twins sometime early next year, I have been working on ways of telling twins apart. In the Tina/Sarah case I've figured out that Tina is the smart one trying to look dumb, and Sarah is the dumb one trying to look smart.

The real problem for me is how to tell Bush, Cheney, and McCain apart!

I think this means we have them surrounded!!!!! I mean 48 and 49 ARE between 1 and 50......right?

And that candidate from state # 49 is married to a guy that wants to make it 49 total again as I recall.

Mikey......good point, but those is triplets! I'm just working on twins.

Someone told me (with a straight face) the other day that McCain choose Palin for her looks.
Perhaps Larry is on to something with the identical twins.

Didn't think people really bought the idea... But yesterday in the doctor's waiting area, they had CNN on, and there was a story about the protest of the Cumberland County early voting location being open on Sunday - which happened to be in close proximity to where an Obama rally was taking place. Another patient in the waiting room said to me... "I know why they opened the voting on Sunday... [whispering] ...because he's a Muslim."
I said "Excuse me???"
She repeated, louder "He's a muslim"
I responded with "No... he's been a christian since he was born... and it wouldn't matter to me if he were muslim."
She then turned away from me, and ignored me the rest of the time we were sitting there.
(I did get a thumbs-up from one of the staff people who overheard the conversation)

Good for you, Wyld. Right wing talk radio and Fox News have poisoned the minds of millions of Americans. I have a real fear that some kook(s) are going to try and pull something after (or maybe even before) they lose the election.

The lady whom is director of the horse rescue stable I volunteer at is a staunch Republican (She's a lovely person and doing wonderful work with the horses; she's entitled to her opinions which I don't have to agree with) and she's got Republican-oriented talk radio on in the barns. You can't help but hear it.
Today on the radio they were doing some fear-mongering and telling outrageous lies (I was grooming horses; I couldn't help but hear it from the stalls!) about Obama...implicating that he might have been born in Kenya and not the USA and therefore not eligible to be President, attended a Muslim school, was a closet Muslim, the usual. Never mind the fact that Obama's travelled out of the country before and has an American passport, so the State Department has had proof of his birth.
I can see where people are getting all this misinformation...it's all over the radio...and people aren't thinking logically about what they're hearing.

My cousin Jason Mraz was on tv yesterday with Barak Obama. Well, not quite on there with him but on the same show as him. He was on the Ellen Degeneres show singing his new song I'm Yours. Obama was on there talking about some dancing he'd evidently done on there before. The only times I've ever watched her show was when cousin Jason was on there. I think my cousin is for Obama. He's probably the only one in the family for him. I can't tell my mom he's for Obama. It would really disappoint her...
