I want to know as well! What is conservative Cheryl?

One could also ask, how many times will dumb asses get kicked in the crotch before they realize who's doing the kicking? A good portion of the crap we're in right now started with Reagan and his "trickle down economics" (his "make the rich richer and it will eventually trickle down to the middle class and poor" bullshit). Well, remember what else runs downhill and maybe the dumb asses will realize what we're neck deep in now (Hint: it ain't the Big Muddy!). Bush, McCain and all of their cronies are dishing out more of the same while the country and the planet are "trickling down" right into the crapper. Only now, instead of a trickle, it's a s**t slide!

What the hell are "conservatives" trying to conserve? Greed? War? Global warming? Economic catastrophe? Keeping the middle and lower class down? Stupidity? Or maybe they just like getting kicked in the figurative crotch! Conservatives ain't conserving anything that needs conserving. They should change their name. I've got a few suggestions. None are very flattering.

I don't share her political and social views at all, and I don't even know her, but you guys really should back off on the Cheryl-baiting in here. She is a super Arlo fan, and that's enough for me.

Anyway, remember that a liberal is only one mugging away from turning conservative, and a conservative is only one job layoff away from turning liberal.

I have known Cheryl through Arlonet along time and have always been respectful. I am not baiting anybody, it is an honest question in a forum that is discussing politics. If Cheryl does not want to answer, she does not have to. If she doesn't want to be asked these questions, she can post in the other non-political threads. That is the way I see it!

If I was baiting, I do apologize; it is not intended that way. I truly wanted to know what Cheryl thinks beyond the labels. I count you, Cheryl, as an arlonet friend, and you are not my only Republican/conservative friend, but each of you has a very different set of ideas about what that means, as progressives/liberals/Democrats have about the labels they are given. I believe that Obama is a moderate, and I don't understand why he's seen otherwise. I'll stop asking here, of course. Thank you, MIkey, for pointing out that I should have quit asking earlier.

Hey... Just want to add my thought that we all are scrambling here. We want do the right thing...

I think we all respect each other's opinions. Cheryl has always posted hers despite a majority overrule , I do respect that.

But, I think this may be a sincere question looking for an answer. What is conservationism? Why is it different from what we believe? Why should we be divided?

To me, the question was put out there in trust. It said , "talk to me!"

Thanks ya'll. I don't go into alot of details on here cuz I don't wanna uset folks on here since they have different views than I do. Like I'm anti-abortion & I bet most folks on here aren't. I do tend to read more than write on here & not write as much about my viewpoints on here due to that. It's interesting to read the views on here. Ya'llw ould have fun debating my mother. If you think I'm conservative, boy is she even more conservative. The other day I made a comment around her that it was boring watching the Dubya & election stuff on tv & got accused of being unpatiotic lol...

You might be surprised what most folks here are and are not!
OK Abortion. The average male human is capable of producing 3.5 trillion babies during his life span. (assuming a sperm count of 60 million per ml with an average ejaculate volume of 3.5 ml and assuming sexual competence between the ages of 12 (when my voice changed) and 60 (I am 50 and still going strong) and average capability of at least 1 ejaculation per day (trust me, not a problem). A normal human female begins life with the potential of about 7 million babies but in reality only about 300 to 400 eggs mature with a timing that would allow pregnancy.

The point, nature has built in a numbers game on pregnancy. If you believe in God, God is playing baby roulette to begin with using penis’ and vagina’s and that ever tempting itch that turns normally sane young men and women into lust craved vamps and vipers on a Saturday. So you see, even God does not expect every single possible instance of conception to result in the production of a human life!

That is the reality. Now Cheryl, you suggest that most people on this site are pro-abortion! I disagree! I would bet there are many “liberals” on this site that are pro-life, in fact, I bet everyone on this site is pro-life! I would bet >98% would describe themselves as pro-life (as I myself am pro-life). That is why we hate war and plague and pestilence. I am pro family planning! Pro-sex education! Pro Sexual honesty with children! I am pro birth control! And in the end, when all else fails and somebody has to make an extremely difficult decision that nobody wants to face, I am Pro-Choice! I don’t believe that society should force some preconceived notion of morality and ethics that makes it difficult for people faced with this very emotional decision and keeping them from proper medical care if it is needed in light of the fact that it is all a numbers game to begin with!

But surely you realize that people like myself and Ceashel and MG and others around here are constantly having our patriotism challenged by the "right wing" as you say because we don't believe in the "right wing propaganda rhetoric" of the likes of Jerry Falwell and G W Bush! I fly flag in my front yard! I have supported the troops since they went into harms way (not the leader, but the troops), I pay my taxes and I vote regularly...yet my patriotism, my love for the ideals not the realities of the country of my forefathers, is questioned routinely by almost every Republican I know! And God help me when they find out I am Atheist as then I am asking for burning on the cross in some pagan cleansing ritual in a an excorcism of demons from the promised land.
