Movie opens with the birth of the first cloned rock star - Melanie. By the time she reaches 3 years of age Elvis, The beatles, Arlo, The Stones, and Grace Slick are reproduced with perfect DNA sequences.

It's the Louisiana Voodoo practiced in the United States which has become embedded with Christianity and incorporated the Christian god and saints. Slaves in America were not allowed to practice their African spiritual paths under penalty of death and so blended it into the Christian religion that was forced upon them.

West African Vodun is mostly a monotheistic religion with a pantheon of lesser spiritual beings and is the basis for the above mentioned and venerates, among other things, nature, creation and ancestors. Like most other non-Christian spiritualities, they have been demonized by the Christian church as Satanic or devil worshiping.

Hoodoo, which you may be confusing with Voodoo, etc., is not so much a spiritual path as it is a practice of magicks with no set connection to any religion.

Considering that Christianity (re: Christians) is/was responsible for the eradication of a multitude of cultures, ethnic groups, religions, science, knowledge and reason, etc., etc., it should frighten the hell out of everyone.

Thanks Captain, this was real interesting. I know a little about Voodoo but, I didn't know some of the things you talked about.

What I know about this subject was learned by visiting candle stores in Georgia. You couldn't help but look at all the other stuff they sold. Snake eyes, toads feet, and just about every body part (inside and out) of every small creature you can imagin.

All kinds of potions, books, you name it. Kind of strange stores to visit but, GREAT prices on candles!
