Back to the religion thingy (sorry, all you haute cuisiners), I read a story about a Sami woman and a Christian priest who was trying to convert her to Christianity.

She blows a kiss to the Sun (Beaivvas) and says, "When you get to be as old as I am, you'll appreciate the warm gods!"

"But what about when the Sun disappears in the winter or behind the clouds?"

That is correct! Don't believe in reincarnation or souls or heaven or hell or such. Once the light goes out it does not transfer. The individual is nothing but a bizarre bunch of information stored in 1.3 to 1.4 KiloGrams of mostly fat, water and electrolytes inside your head. What you leave behind is what is left in other peoples memories of you and there is no light transfering somewhere else! It is only a lifetime does not mean there will be another for you it just means it is not worth getting to hung up on stupid stuff.

There are just some things that we don't know while alive. I'm listening to the Moody Blues singing about seeing where we have been, like the glorious age of Camelot. But I don't believe in the GOD the CHURCH and STATE have made.

I often wonder why people have such difficulty with the finito the end concept? The fact that the entity of the individual is non transferable. The whole the light goes out and that is all she wrote dust to dust view of life. Why is it such a huge issue with so many people? Any enlightenment on this? Then there is the there has to be more to life, it has to have a purpose and a meaning? Why? It does not bother me at all. I mean life has a purpose and it has nothing to do with any given individual manifestation of life.

And I like what Zap said.....A spirit in eveything, or I'd call it more a living energy or force,,,,,,,,,like you feel when you "hug a tree" or your horse or a human.

Maybe the "spirit" of a lost loved one could be in the wind. Like that feeling that someone is watching over you, to me it's the memory of their love surrounding you forever.
