If you'll "let God do the weeding"... then why are you trying to convince all of us that we are weeds... Did you know that a 'weed' is simply a plant that's growing in a place where you don't want it? Perhaps you should tend to your own flower and leave it to god to take care of our weeds... er... flowers...

I never called anyone a "weed". Somebody else made up the weed story. Not me, I just joined the conversation. All the gardens of the world needs weeding, mine included. Don't get your dander up, we all need help. Yes, I like my beliefs. Whats wong with that? Just because someone doesn't agree with me, should they gag me? I don't think sharing my faith with others has ANY power to condem anyone.
Jim

Jim, You put a smilie behind that statement to make it a joke. But I sincerely believe that this is your true believing. The someone getting pushed out in your opinion will be one of the not "true followers of Jesus".
Also the impression your posts give me is, that you think you are better than all the others here.
I very much can understand how hard an illness can be and how lonely. Would it not be better to exchange views in a nice way without trying to ("Questions and comments that make people uncomfortable are my forte.) make people uncomfortable? You could learn how people here "tick" just by posting and reading.
Farewell and I wish you all the best and ease with your illness, Jim.

I think you are a delusional psychopath with a God fixation and the potential to be very dangerous to either yourself or some unsuspecting innocent who is categorized as a weed in God's garden. I like my beliefs. I don't think sharing my Atheism with others has any power to condem anyone either (hey wait, I don't believe people are condemed by some higher authority anyway). But if I were a religious zealot nut influenced by this holier than thou BS and had access to a bunch of dynamite or fertilizer or a plane loaded with fuel, I could make a mess out of a bunch of peoples lives because people like you would tell me it is a means of reaching heaven!

Jim,
When a man whose marriage was in trouble sought his advice, the Master said, "You must learn to listen to your wife."
The man took this advice to heart and returned after a month to say that he had learned to listen to every word his wife was saying.
Said the master with a smile, "Now go home and listen to every word she isn't saying."
P&L, Kevin

Is that not what you are attempting to do with various folksingers?

Jim, did you ever see a very young child, like a one year old that was learning how to wave "bye bye", wave with his or her hand facing themselves? This is because people that study such things have found that little children of that age assume that everyone else sees things from the same perpsective that they do.Thus, when they wave "bye bye" and see their own hand facing them, they assume you see the same thing that they do. For some people, this works in their adult lives as it relates to religion and politics among other things. A point to ponder from PSB's new guru. :D

Perhaps you should take up a hobby, like the Dickensian method of knitting.

PS, you are a carpenter of a wordsmith! Your hammer has, once again, struck a nail squarely on the head!

But I have to say that what started out as interesting and stimulating has digressed into something akin to trying to unclog a pipe where the water has been stagnant for far too long.

Well, it's not as if everyone didn't try little non-forced mental Castor oil. 8)

No! Not now...not ever.

This link tells a different story.

This is a perfect example to me of someone supporting an argument with quotes and interpretations taken clearly out of context as presented. In other words, you didn't read this article, you read words from the article and then strung them together in a way that only supported your thesis du jour. Same as any reasoned, intelligent responses you have been provided.
I'm sad for you, since your myopia clearly limits you to a tiny universe of one. But don't let my sadness deceive you tarbaby. I'm not gettin' a warm fuzzy that you're here to have honest exchange with folks, and that's a real step towards being sent to the KC & the Sunshine Band site for life...

I wish you well in coping with your illness, Jim.
Perhaps you do believe you are trying to help others find the solace you have found in your personal savior. But would your own methods work on you? Is anyone going to argue you into admitting you're wrong about anything?
Converts to various religions that I have known have all made their way there because of the solidarity that they felt with the community. Having someone in your face telling you're wrong ususally only makes you feel more right.
