Just got home from a weekend away having fun with family, to a message from my friend Dan's wife. Dan is currently in the hospital with MRSA, one of those nasty, antibiotic-resistant infections that are potentially lethal. A few days ago, he had something that looked like a pimple on his lower abdomen, which proceded to grow to the size of a grapefruit. He had emergency surgery on Friday, and will probably be in the hospital till Wednesday. We're hopeful that it was caught in time, but he is in a lot of pain and needs plenty of prayers and vibes. Please do your thing, as you all do so well!

I'm so sorry. I work in a school and we've been sending letters home about MRSA and using special cleaners to prevent this. My daughter's friend caught this from the weight room in school. She had to have surgery but she's fine now. I hope your friend has the same good recovery.

Lee

Bundervibes from here. This bug used to be a nosocomial bug only. I guess we're really making medical advances...

How many times have I heard you say "my friend Dan." Blundervibes are streaking to the northeast to Dan and to you and his family! I've read about MRSA, and it is nasty, but they seem to be learning and making inroads against it.

Is that Dan Stevens? I am so sorry to hear about him. I saw him live for free in Nags Head, NC a few yrs ago. When I had mentioned on here about going to Nags Head that yr, you mentioned him & about his show in Nags Head. He put on a great show & it was nice talking to him after the show. Prayers said & vibes sent....

Talked to Dan this afternoon and he was sounding a bit better. He hopes to come home Wednesday--his wife said Thursday when I talked to her. Time will tell.....He'll still have lots of recuperating to do once he gets home, and appreciates everyone's good wishes!

One person can make a difference... coming out of a hospital unknowingly infected... spreading it... and jets don't help stop infection either... lots of things used to be nosocomial but are now "out"

Read a book about 15 years ago about that... hospital-based germs getting loose in the "real" world... maybe it was Robin Cook, or Arthur Hailey, can't remember.

I really hope he beats it... it's a very nasty infection.
