A mole' made 'from scratch' is complex but well worth the trouble. But you can get Mexican mole' sauces in jars at the grocery store in NM and here that are pretty good.

This sauce is similar to the recipe I have, but my recipe says to brown the chicken pieces and then add a tiny bit of water to the pan, cover, and cook until done. I like the browned chicken better. You can use turkey, too, but chicken's easier to work with.

Geez, after all, you don't have to grow the chiles and nuts and cacao beans, or raise the chicken--you can buy them. What could be easier?

Happy belated birthday, Terry!

Like Water for Chocolate was a wonderful movie! I'll have to look for the book.

I think Shelly should bring some chicken mole to the tailgate...:)

I would think that if Air Force One can carry a little weasel from Washington to Texas all the time, they'd let me take a little mole on a commercial flight in the other direction.

I don't know about crossing a chicken with a mole, much less eating one. I am suspect of genetically engineered foods. :?
