this post is about easter...you can tell funny stories that happened on easter,just wish a happy easter to someone,etc...i thimk you get the idea!

Funny stories? okay... there was the year my family was getting together at my Mom's house for dinner - there were about 25 of us at the house. My sister went down to the basement to get some folding chairs, and bashed them into the water meter.... WATER EVERYWHERE... Thank goodness for the main shut-off valve! (I think that gaffe beats the time I dropped the Thanksgiving turkey...)

It may have been Christmas and not Easter that this happened, but when my jewish brother in law went to church with us, he told me he really didn't think he should be there. I asked him why, and he pointed to Jesus on the cross in the church and said" Look what they did to the last jew that came in here"!

We were living in Torrance, CA...it was spring 1982. Our son was three and a half, and eagerly looking forward to his Easter egg hunt in the back yard. Unbeknownst to us, our Irish Setter, Misty had had her own egg hunt when we'd let her out earlier...and ate most of the eggs, shells and all. All those eggs did not do kind things to her digestive tract. You didn't dare light a match!
Kevin found the few remaining eggs, and was okay with that...he was much more excited over the jelly beans and chocolate rabbits and small toys in his basket. Laura, at 6 months old, didn't care either way!

Speaking of smells, when our almost 24 yesr old daughter was about 4, my father -in-law decided to gift her some ducklings, live ducklings, for Easter. (we were thrilled......NOT!) They lived in a box in the house for a few days, until the house smelled like a hen house, and we decided to put them out in the playhouse that I had built for our daughter. That lasted a couple of nights until the hungry racoons in the area decided to have a duck dinner. It was ugly.

Happy Easter kids! One easter I got my dad 2 baby ducks to put on the pond at the house my folks were living at then. My dads duck a neighbor had given him had died. Well he named these 2 ducks Cheryl & Mike. I think they later died...

We snarfed down choklit eggs yesterday! Yum!

RE: Easter. When I was 4, my birthday was on Easter. The Easter Bunny hid my birthday presents as well as my Easter basket. My Mom doesn't remember that--I asked her yesterday.

Yesterday was my best Easter ever. My son made John and I a delish dinner, which included my mother's recipe Matza ball soup! Homemade mac & cheese, ham & cheese sauce, baked pirate potatoes and biscuits. (How lucky am I that I had a son that loves to cook!) It was quiet and mellow. Last year he and his GF were in Europe and John worked, so this was triple happy.

But about 3 months ago, I mentioned to JohnC that I all the Easter Baskets I have ever made (and those who know me - know I do holidays in a major way) I had never received an Easter basket. Wasnt making point...just mentioned it in passing.

John worked 3-12 on Saturday and came home (technically Easter Sunday) with three cards and a Beautiful and huge Easter basket, full of personally picked out Godiva chocolates (mostly white which is my favorite), some mints, A white Godiva lambie, a huge choc Egg, a beautfiully wrapped box of Godiva choc's and a gift wrapped box of 40 different flavors of jelly beans. Cool flavors like jalepeno, coffee, pina colada, popcorn and some usual ones. He had gone out a few "dinnertimes" and shopped all over NY to put it together. We were up to 2:30 a.m. unwrapping and sampling jelly beans. He told me that is this was my first Easter basket it should be "special". It really was!!!
