We got a Rotweiller named Tinkerbell by the way. No, it wasn't me, it was my daughter that named her. I wonder where she gets it from? :? :)

LOL!! Is there a secret you are not telling us you sly dog?....I can't picture you dressed in leotards and tights floating in fairy dust with Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, hint hint?

The reason I got Tinkerbell floating under my name is that I am a dumb blonde spaced out in my own fantasy world

Lorie... I don't believe for a second that you are a "dumb" blonde... I hope you stop talking about yourself in that way ... the more you say it, the more you believe it. No more questioning "I'm Okay?" State it as a fact: "I'm Okay!"... and no more "dumb" comments... I believe in YOU! (clapping my hands, just like in the Peter Pan movie)

Here is your new mantra:

'I am a wonderful person, and I am worthy of respect; I am capable of overcoming whatever obstacles are put in my way.'

Thanks Cheryl and everyone else for your thoughts.....The reason I labeled myself as a dumb blonde is that I realized it now that I am so ashamed of what I did to myself when I joined this forum. I acted so childish because I was unhappy, I just wanted to be liked and recognized in a standing crowd. I feel hatred among my family and at times I am excluded out of conservations and feel invisible. I did not mean to act like an idiot when I joined on ArloNet back in 2005. I was just so hyper and had mania problems as part of my disorder. I'm sorry if I hurt anybody with my obnoxious postings I did not mean no harm, I just wanted to have fun and have a really good time.

I learned something from this forum that you have to be careful who you talk with or make friends with because friends only respect you for who you are and not pretending to be someone you are not as acting to a small psychological child's level.

I will keep all of you informed on my treatments including doctors visits :)

Peace and Love,
Lorie

Lorie, that happens in families...I get the same sense of being excluded from conversations thing in my family, too...but I'm the youngest of four kids, and even tho we've long ago become adults, some siblings are closer to each other than others..that's just the way it is. It's not on purpose, it's not because they're trying to exclude me...it's because they've always been closer. It's not anything about me! I just make an effort to keep in touch, and include myself in whatever is going on. And sometimes, I enjoy sitting back and just listening to the cacophony that family gatherings turn into. It's all good! We have a family wedding coming up over Memorial Day (which also coincides with my birthday) so I'll have a chance to enjoy the chaos...by then. we'll have two new babies in the family, so there will be lots of conversations, some bad joke and story telling, probably some good beer, and a great party at my brother's expense that will totally be worth it. We'll enjoy passing the babies around, too!

Lorie, Cheryl, et al.:

I think that most people who have ever been here have at one time or another said or done something they wish they could take back; I certainly have. To me, acceptance is one of the many beauties of this community. As long as you are either sincere or truly just 'goofing,' AND IF you afford others the same consideration, the people here seem to understand and accept the person. For instance, we love the Front Half, tutu and all. Not to mention the Back Half ...

That doesn't mean we're always easy on each other. If you see someone jumping off a cliff, it isn't the time to be encouraging.

Include me in that, too... would ya? It's almost a year now and I cringe every day when I think about a series of postings I made... and got a LOT of people pissed off at me. Although I apologized at the time, I'd like to offer my sincerest apology again. Please forgive me.

Hey Lorie, my second oldest child, 33 years old has been bi-polar-I guess most of her life. She had emotional problems when she was a baby. Her doctor put her on phenobarbitol (probably spelled incorrectly) to get her through weaning from her bottle. Very little was commonly known about this over 30 years ago. My daughter wasn't correctly diagnosed until she was 20-21. She attempted suicide at least once and got into legal trouble with prescription and illegal drugs. She lost custody of one of her children and her 14 year old son has so much anger that he's been in trouble too. My daughter recently completed a faith-based 4 month rehab and seems to have turned her life around. I am so praying that the changes I see in her now will last. She knows that all along I have loved her no matter what, but that there were times that I couldn't trust her. Every time she seemed to be doing well, she self-destructed-almost as if she wants to fail-or is scared she will fail no matter what she does.

Lorie, I pray for this daughter, as well as our other 5 kids and 10 grandchildren every day. I will pray for you too.

Linda

Lorie, myself and three members of my birth family (also members of past generations) have suffered severe bouts of stress induced anxiety and depression. Some families have heart attacks or strokes my family suffers chemical imbalances which with the correct help can be rebalanced.
I know that when you're in it you feel like you're in a fish bowl looking out on the "normal world" and you just want to be part of it again but feel you never will. With the right help it can be managed. In my case I have not needed ongoing medications but in one case in my family this has been necessary. I now know the triggers and lead my life accordingly. I say NO alot more than I used to, live in a peaceful area where the sounds of nature and darkness at night (where I can see the stars) suit my soul. I have changed careers a few times when stress levels became to high. I have deleted or minimised contact with negative people or situations that irritate my senses.
I have not confined my life, just streamlined it a bit!
A wonderful health care professional helped me learn to see things from a different perspective. One big thing I learned was that I can't "save the world"at least not by myself! We all have our triggers we just have to work out what they are.

Hey, your not alone, and no one here will judge you only give support because everyone has their own demons, they are just affected in different ways. It's not a matter of "being cured", because we are who we are, but learning what tools we can use to live in peace.
