Now I remember you. I remember that Richmond Mosque show. It was with the symphony and was a good one. Did you get to go to the Hampton or Richmond shows this yr? Those were fun too.

I think I've been to Gates before on the way back from Nags Head. I've been to Ahoskie a number of times on the way back from Nags Head. Sometimes instead of going back thru Elizabeth City we'd go back home thru Edenton & Ahoskie for fun. When we go we always stop by that Walmart & go shopping in that strip shopping center. One time when we went there they had a church tent revival meeting in the parking lot of the Walmart & we stopped & went to some of it till we had to go back home. I think they had an independent Baptist preacher preach and then a pentecostal preacher preach. That was pretty neat. We always liked to eat at this good bbq place in Edenton or either Bracys Carolina Cooking in Ahoskie. So I am somewhat familiar with the area. One yr we went thru some county near there & went on a one car ferry there. That was neat. Here lately tho we've been going back thru Elizabeth City. Arlo came to the Nags Head area to Manteo a few yrs back. It was in April of that yr & even tho it was April it was cold in the 40's. Yikes.

I like the old theatres he's been to. Wish he'd come to the Beacon Theatre in Hopewell, VA. (Hint,hint)...

I was in Manteo for the freezing April show--that's the only time I EVER left before the very end. The whole family was with me, and their teeth chattering was drowning out the music, so I finally gave in. I can only imagine how miserable it must have been to try to make cold fingers play guitar that night.

I think one of the coldest, soggiest concerts I ever attended was at a craft fair in Gaithersburg, MD about 1996...it was raining, about 35 degrees,the heat lamps on the outdoor stage were not working well, and Abe and Arlo were freezing. Arlo finally gave up trying to play guitar with freezing fingers and played keyboard as best he could. I can't remember if they played two or three sets that day, but they were troopers; they played under completely miserable conditions. The audience froze, too...we were standing in slippery mud, in the rain, holding umbrellas. I remember it took a couple of hours to warm up after getting home from that one.

I was at both of those shows, Manteo & Gaithersburg and they were 2 of the coldest Arlo shows I've ever been to. Except for Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. That was 32 degrees at nite in August! Brrr...

I was in Eisenach (Germany) at the Jazz club, last saturday night. It was the first time I saw Arlo on stage. ( I was only few meters away from the stage!)
It was a wonderful show with great instrumentals : Haleiwa Farewell, St. Louis Tickle, ragtime piano….
and songs: Freight train (to open), St James Inf., Darkest Hour, When a Soldier Makes it Home, Mr tambourine Man, My Peace, In Times Like These ( very beautiful) ……
At the end of the show, Arlo was joined on stage by Bucky Halker (who had a gig the day before), they sang together about four songs of which Alabama Bound.

was phenomenol! although it was a little scary walkng back to the car because downtown baton rouge is on the river and even though they're trying to revive it as a viable entertainment area, after dark, bad things still happen. but we made it and as usual, arlo was great although it seemed he was a bit "toned down" but maybe that was because of all of the suits in the audience...lol
