....just happened to catch in a happy accident.... a recent interview with Pete on Democracy Now.....he does alot of reminiscing.....a bit of singing.....and well it's very Pete....

The Power of Song will air on PBS February 27. See http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/database/seeger_p.html for local times, also a clip from the movie, and an excerpt from Where Have All the Flowers Gone (the book), that includes the sheet music for "Dr. King." I know where I'll be on the 27th, with my phone turned off.

What a terrific show! I forgot to buy blank tapes yesterday; did anyone tape it? I'd love to have a copy.

I recorded it on the cable dvr box but don't have any video tapes at home. Not sure when I'll get to town to get any but I won't erase the program.

If you go to pbs.org you can see a 3-4 minute video about the show and some 'additional' footage, 2 of which are Arlo. There's quite a bit of info there.

I taped it for John, who was working (actually over an old tape, because I forgot to buy a tape too - but there's always something old around that I'd happily tape over for Pete)

But you'd get it A LOT faster if you ordered it from shopthirteen. :lol:

Yippie--thanks, Regina! I didn't know it was on sale yet. We won't keep our tape, then. The price of the DVD/CD combo is a small price to pay--we'll get a great film but also be encouraging the making of more films like this, and supporting an administration-beleaguered PBS.
