Some of you know about our local Folk Club pitching in and helping an elderly member who has no relatives here in the US..he's got a cousin in Canada who is too far away to really be there all the time. He had a severe health problem back in October, his house was in bad shape and Folk Club members got him to the hospital, and got power of attorney to clean out his house and get it sold(at John's request) and other members kept him in their home after he came out of the hospital for a couple of months until he could get into his new home. Folk club friends took care of all the moving in and unpacking to get him settled, and we had a lot of people besides Folk Club friends coming in to help...a visiting nurse, a physical therapist, someone to help him around the house.
We had a meal brigade started...I was on for the first meal last Monday, and he'd requested my lasagna. He didn't tell anyone he was having belly pain again, and of course, being a man who loved to eat, he ate a huge plate of lasagna. He's been hospitalized again for a bowel blockage, and in the meantime, he's developed pneumonia, heart problems and a MRSA infection and a host of other problems. They've drained a litre of fluid out of his lungs, and he's in the critical care unit. Tonight they cut off all visitors because he is in extreme respiratory distress. I think he could use some blundervibes.

It does sound like John needs a lot of Blundervibes, so a lot are on the way from Texas.

He's being allowed visitors today, so that's a good thing. Blundervibes do help a lot!
According to his cousin, we ARE his family...the family that was chosen. He's been there to help set up the room for Folk Club for about 20 years, and we're more than happy to help him out and be there for him. The alternative is too awful to think about..a widower, no living relatives in the USA, elderly, sick and alone. But he's got us..!

Vibes are coming your way!!! Ask him if he wants to meet a cute little old lady from NJ (No kids - I dont mean me!!) Maybe that will make him perk up. Seriously - I'll be thinking of him and you!!!
