You all know I am a big fan of Hillary ( FOH?) , but I can only go so far. I am first a purist who believes one should be elected based on one's record/ iews/capabilities, etc. and certainly not on one's gender or race any more than one should be elected based on their height.

Please do not vote for Hillary because she is a woman, or because this is a chance to make history.

When I vote, I will cast a vote not for a Democrat, Republican, a Black man or a woman, but for world peace in my lifetime.

I don't like the fact that two states decide it for everyone else. I like Obama. But from what I'm reading and hearing on CNN, MSNBC and others, if he wins New Hampshire tomorrow, the race is over.

Doesn't the rest of the country have a right to hear from the others, like Edwards and Kucinich?

World Peace is more than just an absence of war isn't it?

Leo, you make an excellent point. The absence of war will not bring world peace, In fact,. it is peace that begets the ending of war, and not the ending of war that begets peace.

Any reasonably capable leader could end war, even sustain this for a prolonged period of time, and we may still not attain world peace. Contrary to linear thought, world peace is not necessarily attained by ending war, but by ending the the hatred. End the hate.... and you will find peace. Then is when the killing will end.

What is the chance of that change happening in our lifetime? Do we have a leader amoung the field of candidates who can take us there?

I don't know if anyone running can even begin to dream of that fine day.
I have heard Edwards speak of taking the Bomb apart.-That is a treaty America signed in the late 1960's-Ted Turner keeps a copy of that treaty in his wallet.
I believe in the Music of the last 50 years. Someday, somehow, they have to get together. I know singers like Arlo, both Seegers, Bono, Jackson Browne, Steve Earle and and many others including Yoko are doing what they can. Jackson Brown on his site has an awakening thought: "Every bullet is a mouthful of food stolen from the poor."-That statement has to be one of the answers. It just makes sense it would be tougher to hate with a full stomach.
Yoko has some powerful words on her Imagine Peace Tower site-under links there. She spoke them to the United Nations in 2005 saying like, "We must not waist another day, destroying each other and this planet. We must do it.

That is incredibly true and real. Music is very powerful and can bring change!

It was Eisenhower who said, "The People of this World want Peace so badly. That someday the govt. are going to have to step out of the way, and give it to them."
Chances are that that is what it will take if we do it loud enough.

What makes it seem like an up hill battle is the People (And there have been a few.) who say we should nuke the whole middle east so we can find all the oil.-I always answer with the words, "Oh, I'm not moral enough to do that."
