what a town to pick on!!... a booming metropolis like Gt. Barrington...is anyone actually on the streets after 10pm?... i know it's picked up a little with a movie theater and club but...

so I challenge Faux to take on Cambridge, MA... a hotbed of all kinds of activity... where tons of "holiday lights" have decorated the city for years ...

Here in secular OZ you see very few "Christmas Lights" except for the ones as described in that article that say"look at my house". The shopping centres have a few wreaths around and maybe a Nativity Scene
that does not stand out from the crowd really. But overall it's fairly low key, oh except for the shopping frenzie!

I think an earlier article of their's "Feed the Hogs and get out" was much more deserving of a persons time than this S**T.

God's Police don't seem very Christian to me. We're having trouble with some of them here at the moment. Fear and ingnorance are alive and well.

My folks watch Fox news all the time. All the old people around here do lol. We love to look at the Christmas lights. They are so pretty. I wonder if maybe the town of Great Barrington closes down early & that's why they turn off the lights so early...

I have not, but your suggestion reminds of something I learned as a kid, and perhaps you did too.

How to catch a polar bear:

You will need an ice auger, a can of peas and some binoculars and a minnow net.
First, while you are standing on the ice, you use the auger to drill a big enough hole for a polar bear. Then, you open the can of peas and take a bunch of peas and arrange them around the hole you just made. When the bear comes to the hole to take a pea, you kick him in the icehole. You then look backwards through the binoculars at the bear, scoop him out of the icehole with the minnow net, and deposit him in the now empty pea can. Works every time.......or so I'm told.

No, but about 37 years ago I was a passenger in my friend Peter's car while he tried driving at night with my prism/"trip" glasses. He was only doing about five miles per hour and I kept having to tell him which way to turn so he wouldn't drive off the road. It wasn't very exciting (at least not for me) but I think we were stoned at the time so it seemed like it was an appropriate thing to do.

That's kind of what I meant by "sort of, but before they were invented." Mine was me driving by myself at about 2 a.m. with Purple Owsley glasses, so to speak. I'm continually amazed that I lived past 20.

wow! :) yer all's stories (well except for the binoculars one but i have a different one for that) remind me of when (i've mentioned before) there was nothing but snow and sky...nothing! no cars moving couldn't even see them...imobilized all quiet everywhere was shiny...sky and snow...the sun glinting off the snow like tiny prisms...rainbows flying everywhere...amazing!

a different time i had one of those 50X (?) scopes and i flipped over a rock found some of those light colored science fiction looking ants...got the idea to put the scope to them...my eye to the scope and the sight was monstrous and startled me so i flew backward onto my ass (hey! they were all looking at me!)
(of course there were laughs, but everyone wanted to try then!)
