It's been said that Kucinich's views and such, for the most part, mirror over 70% of the American public's (well, today at least. Tomorrow .... that's another thing!). So then why is this guy so far behind in the polls? Do we really hate ourselves so much that we wouldn't support some one who says he'd like to do what we think should be done? Anyhow, he's the first candidate with the cajones to publicly question Bush's sanity and is sticking to his statement! Right on, Dennis!

70% seems a lot given the people I encounter personally

It's not the percentage that would vote for him. Just the number that might view the issues the same way. Well, now it's just come out that he's seen a UFO, too. That might not fall into that percentile either. Dang! Just when ya think somebody might be making sense ....... Bzzzzzzzzttttt! Alien abduction!

In the context of the debate, that question was so unfair!

I feel your "confusion", for lack of a better word, myland!

But I still remember (and keep heart!) of something you said awhile ago on another thread...

"I'll go down with the Ship ... but
I'm lookin' for a life raft for my Grandchildren"

That's why we have to Fight Back Now!

Jimmy Carter had claimed to have seen a UFO as well and he was probably one of the most honest, trust worthy and sincere presidents who we've ever had. As a friend of mine said, he was probably too nice of a person for a president. Congress and the general public jumped all over him. His straightforwardness about the energy crisis, among other things, contributed to his loosing re-election. But he told the truth and we, like Jack Nickelson said it that movie, "... can't handle the truth!" I could go on but I digress. But that could start a whole 'nother discussion.

By definition, UFO does not mean an extraterrestrial craft. Just something flying around that you can't identify (Would that include stuff being thrown at one's head by one's spouse? I've seen those! Just kidding .... maybe.). My apology for my warped sense of humor. Even Kucinich jokingly said that he's thinking of moving his campaign HQ to Roswell, NM! See, he thinks it's funny, too!

The media is all too willing to take something out of context, blow it up out of proportion and run with it. Look what happened to Howard Dean with one simple, hoarse "Yee-ha!"

....Democracy for America is holding a straw poll on the candidates ...
at this point Kucinich is way in the lead with 40,000 votes...

the voting is on until midnight... here's your chance to vote your conscience...if you've voted already you can change your mind... if you want... one vote per email address...

and it's kinda fun...

That's what I was saying!
I'd rather have a prez. that has seen a ufo than one who sees pink elephants. I'm sure George hears voices in his head too. One of the voices says it's God, but it's really Karl Rove.

Did you hear about the time that Dubya got all coked up and drunked up with some buddies up in Maine? They decided to go ice fishing, and stumbled out onto the ice an starting boring a hole. Suddenly, they heard a voice from the heavens that said" There are no fish here, move along". So they moved about 20 feet over and started boring another hole, all of a sudden it grew dark and again the voice from the heavens exclaimed " there are no fish here, move along!". George got down on his knees and exclaimed "Is this the voice of God?", The voice from the heavens replied " no, this is the rink manager on the public address system, we are closing, I've turned the lights off, will you guys please leave!?"

I remember reading in the 60's or 70's once about a guy who saw a pinjk elephant when he was on a drug trip. There is a supposedly one somewhere in Huntington, WV. The dude built it for his granddaughter. I have always wanted to see it but haven't been able to find it yet...

Cheryl, don't waste all that time and gas to drive to WV. to see a pink elephant. Just drink a bottle of Jack Daniels, and they will come to you.
By the way, I saw a chartreuse moose once............
