I got a call last week, late at night (time differences folks!) from a woman in NYC who wanted me to take her on a tour of Istanbul when they arrived this week. We got to talking and she said we felt like kindred spirits and asked if I had ever been to NYC - she and her husband live in the East Village. I said well, when I was in DC I went every year at Thanksgiving to go to Carnegie. She started laughing and said "Didn't you just love it when Pete was there?" Ends up she and her husband have been going to the Carnegie shows for years. The hubby sailed on the Clearwater with Pete many years ago.
When we hung up, I thought it really is a blunderful world.

Bhak, I'll never forget the time you gave me the stuffed moose outside of Carnegie Hall, and the next thing I knew, the Moose and I were being photographed by a couple reporters from a Japanese magazine. :D

Yup! It's a Blunderful World!

That was a great moose - 2nd only to the Wolf Trap moose. ;)
Alex and Delores are going to try and get to Carnegie again this year. They had fun with Abdullah in the bazaars today. 8)

The Carnegie Hall Moose Adventure was great! Everybody who saw the Moose and me smiled and laughed, even the ushers, who amazingly didn't mind that an extra "person" was sharing my seat. You have to understand that this Moose is the size of a small child, wearing size 2T clothing. He still holds court in my living room, wearing his collection of buttons, which say things like "Woody Guthrie Folk Festival" and "Kinky Friedman for Governor", and even a backstage pass to Carnegie Hall, which he somehow acquired.....
