Arlo, be very, very careful. If too many of the General Public hear what you have to say about this, you'll HAVE to decide whether to give that basement desk to PSB, because they'll write you in! oohh--the Rainbow Roach could be our new national anthem....

adg, just focus on winning New England, and you wouldn't even have to get on the ballot there. That would be enough electorial votes to throw the election into a newly elected house of reps.
It would help to get on the ballot in Pennsylvannia, Ohio and Florida, just to scare the hell out the system. And if you picked attorney General Jerry Brown of California, you could win as a write in there too.

adg, The idea of spending our hard earned dollars on 25 million people who are already here illegally, for hospitals, schools, welfare etc., is NOTHING compared to what it would cost us to ferret them all out, and figure out how to get 'em all back to where they started!

If we had an honest justice department and put them on the job of arresting the criminals in business and also the criminals in the government that have been aiding and abetting them, by the time they got enough of a handle on it and had time to raise their heads there wouldn't be many illegal aliens left.

They justice department gave their oaths of office to do just that. The laws for them to do so has always been clear cut. I'm not sure how they live with themselves. If they don't get on it, we are going to have to go after them. Only political moves have restricted them from doing so.

Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

"Any person who . . . encourages or induces an alien to . . . reside . . . knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such . . . residence is . . . in violation of law, shall be punished as provided . . . for each alien in respect to whom such a violation occurs . . . fined under title 18 . . . imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both."
Section 274 felonies under the federal Immigration and Nationality Act, INA 274A(a)(1)(A):
A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:
* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or
* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or
* knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.
Quote:
TITLE 8 > CHAPTER 12 > SUBCHAPTER II > Part VIII > § 1324 Snip...

(c) Authority to arrest
No officer or person shall have authority to make any arrests for a violation of any provision of this section except officers and employees of the Service designated by the Attorney General, either individually or as a member of a class, and all other officers whose duty it is to enforce criminal laws.

They didn't have the will when it was only one.

Now there's an idea I hadn't thought of: when the feds come in raiding factories and farms where owners hire illegal workers, maybe they oughta arrest the owners and stockholders, haul 'em off, and run 'em thru the judicial process, leaving the illegals where they are. Instead of local police authorities confiscating the property of such criminals, they could hand it over to the folks who've been exploited, making them the legal owners. It'd be interesting to see who they hired, huh? They could, in effect, make exploiters illegal, and make illegals, legal at the same time! After all, there's probably more people profiting from the work illegals do, then there are illegal workers. Net result - a decrease in the number of people we can call illegal.

Only tax what we spend, wouldn't that force us to not spend all we make thus saving for emergencies! Wouldn't that make us not need insurance, you know pay now for stuff that may not happen. What would we do with all the tax shelter sellers? Everyone would have the perfect tax shelter called a savings account. Sounds like the money changers would be out in the field picking the grapes and there would be no jobs left for...ouch! my head hurts

Except them, dry them off, and then give them a ride home to their loved ones.

Can I assume you meant to say " Accept" them and not "except" them in this statement?

( Paid for by the ad hoc commitee to help Arlo run for president if he wants to and check and edit blunderblogs on the campaign trail as needed ) I'm Larry, and I approved this message even though I have no idea what I'm talking about.

P.S. Arlo, if you do get detected, selected and elected, you are gunna take us all over to Area 51 right? I always wanted to go to Area 51.:)

Oh, by the way, some folks say they got aliens at Area 51. I don't know if they are legal or not. My guess is if they are there, the government gave them visas. So, I'm sorta on topic.

well what adg said about those factories is the opposite of what happened in New Bedford this year... the illegals (abused and enslaved) got rushed off to a concentration camp in the southeast.....the feds didn't even check to see about their children .... there were over 200 children left behind ....fortunately our amazing governor intervened and got Family Services on it... the kids were located and many were sent to the same camp....but at least they had parents...... because of the young ages of some the parents were sent back...

those "illegals' that were sent back to take care of their children went to their INS and court hearings.... waiting 8-12 hours for several days only to be sent home to come back the next day.... that's the INS at "work"...

and the sweatshop owners?...home to their families and back to work the next day...
a wrist-stinging slap....

well that really got to me....i could have just said.... yes, adg...what a great idea!....

Carson...."If we had an honest...." please!.... what an assumption?!...so often tried and failed....

Our little town of Herndon, VA did something sensible to help the growing population of people who had been hanging out at a 7-11 in town in hopes of being picked to work for landscapers and lawn maintainance crews; people who needed day laborers would stop by and give these guys a day of work at a fair wage. The local people were up in arms about the gathering at the 7-11,so city council members made a site where day laborers could register (they weren't asked if they were illegal or not) and businesses needing laborers could pick them up and get their work done. It gave the day laborers someplace to hang out besides the 7-11, and a good chance of getting work every day. Sounds great, huh? Well...some local people still weren't happy, so they voted all the people who were pro-day laborer site off the town council (including the mayor) and filled the slots with people who were anti-day labor site. Looks like the day laborer site will be gone soon, and the guys are back to hanging around the 7-11. It's really short-sighted on the part of some of the people in town; these day laborers and their families are not going to go away if they get rid of the day-laborer site. We even had some vigilante people videotaping landscapers picking up laborers, taking down license numbers, and threatening to make trouble for anyone hiring the guys standing around, hoping for work. We were in the national news for awhile last year...lots of people were speculating whether it was constitutional or not regarding having the day labor site. God forbid, we give these people a chance to work and support themselves with honest jobs. There's a really bad case of Not In My Back Yard going on here, and it's sad...and stupid.

I actually heard a mainstream politician (can't remember who....had to be a democrat...or perhaps I dreamed it) back in the last election or so talk about a consumption tax....national sales tax...and abolish the IRS. Nothing could make more sense for all the reasons Arlo and others mention. We would then have a black market in large boats, private planes, and big jewerly. But so what most of us can't buy that stuff anyhow and the rich folks are already swindling (or bribing) the goverment out of their income tax anyhow. The reality seems to be that we live in a capitalist republic not a democracy. I'm no economist either, just a lowly public servant in the mental health system where folks are discarded by society and we try to piece them back together, but the strength of the economy is judged by consumer spending rather than the GDP. Much of that spending is with money folks don't even own....becuase the middle class is living off credit. So free market forces reine supreme and that is called the amerikan way, liberty, etc. even if mobil oil makes an obscene 1,000,000,000 every ten seconds, and corporate clones rake in huge salaries for creating nothing of real value to society. Someone said "the measure of a society's character is how is cares for it's least well off", and I think Lincoln said "you don't help a person be stronger by making them weaker."
So Arlo...if the multicolored rainbow coalition is looking for platform suggestions I would move the country toward democracy by abolishing the electoral college and making it illegal for anyone to not vote in every local, state, and national election ! It could be enforced through the national consumption tax...don't vote and you are not allowed to buy stuff for a while.

The only way adg would get my full support is if the profits from the TV and Insurence companies were going to be used to run this place.

I didn't say adg wouldn't get my support. Anyone who wouldn't mind seeing the world take the day off and have some fun is certainly fine with me. And along with saying justice is for the faint of heart. He just might be more of a Capitalist than me. I'm a Unionist who would perfer Worker Ownership.
I've got lots of issues. My biggest one would be that the church and lots of others, don't understand Jacob's Ladder. If they did, it would be a huge step in the curing of my issues., for the world would be as one.
