LOL, Arnie. No, I was raised Southern Baptist, so ours was called Easter dinner. I've attended family seders since, and I do believe it is exactly the same thing.

I had wondered what a Seder was. I am learning on here all sorts of neat stuff. We usually go out to eat with my folks after church. The retuarants will be busy for sure...

Cheryl, the menu, ritual, date, and time are different (among other things) but the family dynamics seem to be the same.

exactly?? You mean you had jewish guilt at the meal??? And a matzoh ball toss???? cool... 8)

Truthfully, I've never been to an Easter Dinner, so I have no basis for comparison. I would speculate that the origins do differ, since one commemorates the liberation of a people from bondage, and the other commemorates a famous painting where they had a seder and someone didn't like the matzoh, cause it wasn't fluffy bread, so he ratted out the host, who got supremely punished for all the bad matzoh that year, but he came back a few days later with a recipe (for bread?) that would always rise, and couldn't be beat... or something like that I think... :roll:

As an ex-Catholic (now a member of the Bring Your Own God Church), I think it's funny how people are getting all freaky about a chocolate Jesus, but they have absolutely no qualms about a matzoh Jesus when they recieve Communion on Sundays!
