Oh Man! I'll take time off work and come to where ever to see all of them together! Mustards Retreat are great. Local musicians to where I'm living, plust Slambovian Circus of Dreams are great too. Saw them last weekend for the second time.

well... it is a nice article/interview... and the church would certainly be a hell of a lot warmer if it were in Georgia, so maybe this was just a case of very wishful thinkin'??? Perhaps George has been thinkin' of the south these past few days???

"I don't think enough government is being taught in our public schools. These aren't just frivolous bills, and I don't think they bog the process down at all," said state Rep. William "Smitty" Pignatelli, D-Lenox.

Pignatelli filed a bill to make Guthrie's Battleground syrup, tapped by Guthrie himself, the state's official maple syrup.

Guthrie has been an ardent supporter of Pignatelli in the past, and the Guthrie Center has done a lot to promote culture and the arts within his district, Pignatelli said.

"I will guarantee you this will be the sweetest bill to ever pass in the Statehouse," he said.

I'll be there! I missed the last time Arlo was nearby because I had a dumb school board meeting for work. It turned out to be a really unpleasant one, and I was more upset about missing Arlo than the boardmember's meltdown. I vowed I would never again allow pesky work to get in the way of my True Calling as a rabid Arlo fan. I'm so obsessed I married a guy who played in a band and looked like Arlo. Pathetic to some, perhaps, but Blunderites would understand.

I was picked for the February showcase at our local Folk Club last month. The showcase (a 25 minute set) was last night. We had a lot of fun! I got to sing with my daughter and friends, and a couple of guys who provided excellent backup on guitar and mandolin. I played autoharp. We did six songs, and ended with Guy Davis's song "We All Need More Kindness In This World". Something upbeat and happy, that everyone could sing along to.
I was going to go to the Wilmington concert, (Wilmington is closer to me than Hampton, VA) but I've got a dog going in for surgery on Friday to have this suspicious looking thing removed from his side. It's the kind of thing we can't wait for a couple of weeks to have it taken care of. By the time I get him home, it will be too late to drive to the concert and get there before it's over. As much as I love the concerts and the Guthries, sometimes things at home take priority.
