Alice's has made it into the physics journals. Critics of the ever-evolving string theories that attempt to combine general relativity and quantum mechanics into an "everything" theory are citing what they call 'the Alice's Restaurant" problem." I watched those Nova episodes where they discussed String Theory, and I gotta admit I didn't understand too much of it.

Prefer to continue thinking that String Theory has something to do with how those tiny two-piece bikinis manage to (mostly) stay on gals at the beach or something to do with which guitar the folkslinger's going to use for a particular song.
