Hi Wyld!

Congrats on your dollhouse! Is it a Barbie Dream House? Must be comfy and cute. I envy you  When I was a kid I said to myself "When I grow up I want to be a Barbie doll wear blue eyeshadow, have long blonde hair(that prediction came true), and play with myself  Did I say that? Off to the bad girl chair I go

Peace,
Lorie

You're not too far off the mark, Lorie. Barbi was based on a doll (intended for adults) modeled after a rather loose woman in a German adult comic strip. See the following:
"In fact, the Lilli doll was based on the character of a prostitute in a comic strip drawn by Reinhard Beuthin for die Bild Zeitung. The Lilli doll was first sold in Germany in 1955. The dolls were manufactured in Hamburg, where legal, licensed prostitutes are ubiquitous. The doll was marketed to adult men in bars and tobacco shops, not to children."

A woman from the states bought a few of them for her daughter, reworked the look a bit, and the rest is history (er, or "herstory"!).

Hey there Cap! WOW!! I knew the name Barbie had a German origin. That reminded me of the movie "Rat Race" that had a Barbie Museum not with a world of plastic bendable limbs and two molded chest mumps. The museum resulted as the history of a mean bad Nazi Leader name Klaus Barbie.
As a matter of fact 10 years ago I was shopping at Toys R Us and bought a replica of the first Barbie from 1958. She was designed like Bettie Page the red lipstick and heavy makeup, hair, swimsuit, cats eye sunglasses, red painted fingernails, red painted toenails, opened toed spike heel shoes, and round hooped earrings in a prostitute form.
The model of the doll looks like it is suited for a horny male to bring to bed and play with every night.

Overall, (hitting my head with the palm of my hand) WOW!! I could have had a V-8!!

Thanks for sharing that info, Cap

Peace,
Lorie(HUA Syndrome Barbie)
