Well not sure what time served previous to sentence was but now near 2 weeks,must be close to freedom time

Star date. September 5th, 2006. 2:37 AM..........

30 days in the hole... What a strange trip it has been...

It's the first night, I can't sleep, but don't give a damn, as I'm home. I got released at 12:01 from St. Lawrence County..... St. Lawrence Co. Correctional Facility is the only Jail, I know of, that cuts you loose one minute after midnight.... THANK-GOD!!! Another nite in Jail, I think Rob wood-be bouncing off a rubber room....

Yeah, it was a bit of a surprize the Judge, committed to my Attorneys ( DA ) ( Judge ) plea aggreament of 5 yrs. probation... To put a little icing on the cake, he additionally whacked me with 30 days in County lock up... (BASTARD)

I was sorta surprized, & my Attorney seemed kinda quizzled... It all happened so fast.... Sue looked shocked? I kinda, just thought, HELL I can do this standing on my head... ( after all I did a bullet in 91 and it wasn't the end of the world----- BUT, I was much younger then... NTM: back then you could still smoke in jail.... I even have some fond memorys of my 91 bid, smoking reefer, and playing marathon games of cribbage with the gaurds, just passing time... Spending my nites then, with Kurt Vonnegut, and many of my favorite authors.... e.p. Thoreau)

NOT SO THIS TIME AROUND.... ( I soon found out, I'm getting way too old for this shit)

#1> I did 4 days solitary confinement, in St. Law. Co. It's a manditory part of getting classified... Imagine this jail is 200 yrs. old. It's like a black dungeon outta an old dracula movie.... So I just slept allot. Read Steven Kings ' The Green Mile '...( the book is lots better than the movie I found out)

#2. on my fifth day, after I was classified, the Warden came up, told me to pack it up, & I was being transferred to Clinton County Corr. Fac... ( 12 miles down the road, from infamous Denamora Max. Security Prison) ( I was beginning to think, it was a part of some conspirisy, & I was surely a part of it)...

Yeah, St. Law. Co. Jail, was over crowed, and they sent 12 inmates to Plattsburg NY... I just happened to be one of those lucky 12.

* BACK TO THE CLASSIFICATION Aspect of being incarcerated.... After the 200 mile ride, to Clinton Co, we were held in holding, for about 12 hrs... Where they have concrete benches instead of solid oak, as in St. Law.. Then I was the first to start the booking process.... Where they take the 3 glossy photo prints, fingerprints, and put you in their theads.... Clinton Co. has black and white stripes, as compared to St. Law's orange and white stripes... Then I was lead to my cell, where I found out, they had a 72 hr. solitary confinement period, before one could be classifed, but seeing it was a wk end, it could be up to 5 days.....

**** So after another 5 days of solitary confinement, I was let into the general population.... ( This might sound bad, but I was glad, as they don't permit controlled substances, in Plattsburg Jail.... So I had to detox, and wreched, and gagged, and wretched and gagged some more... Notta pretty.... Withdrawels from opiates are like bad period cramps ( I can only speculate here being a man) and a chronic case of diaharee to boot) ( enough need to know info there) YIKES...

After coming from a Jail where the inmate population, is 70 prisoners, and being released into a Jail, where they have 360 inmates is a trip.... One that I will likely soon forget..... Let's just say. Jail SUCKS...

* I only spent 13 days in Clinton County, but it felt like 90..... Time flys when your having fun, so they say....

Sunday Morning, they brought 4 of us back to St. Law... ( I among the lucky 4 ) So I spent another 36 hrs. in Jail, which seemed like a week in my mind.......

But all is well.... Got to spend some last hrs. with some local guys I've known pretty much all my life..... Met some cool Indians, from Awkwesausne... Most all of which are in there for drug related charges....

Got to reflect on some great hearted folks, that are doing some major time, headed to big Prisons, for the fate of having been caught with drugs...

This post sounds kinda frazzled.... I apologize... I need some major sleep, and the opiates are kicking my ass bout now..... ( good thing, a two wk hiattus, from drugs has my tolerance down, like 95%) So this should be a healthier Rb, for it...... Gonna stick to that agenda..... & lay low.....

Thanks to all of you, that have showed me unconditional support thru this, stage of my life..... I've learned that there are 3 roads one can travel... A road to the right, a road to the left, and a road that goes down the middle of the two..... I'm gonna stick to that middle of the road, for a very, very, very, long time.... My friend Sarg from Providence gave me that analogy. Even my Dad said it was a good one... And he never did like Billy all that much.....

Rob, man, glad you're out! Don't know the story behind your opiate addiction, but my wife works for an addictions psychiatrist who has been treating people addicted to opiates with a drug called suboxone. I'll let her tell you about it.

the easiest way to describe suboxone (buprenorphine) is to tell you that it is rather like an alternative for methadone, EXCEPT it is less addictive, and can be dispensed from a doctor's office (outpatient type, regular dr. visits). what it does is block the receptor cells in your brain that accept your opiate-of-choice. this allows you to feel normal (whatever that may be) and eliminates all of the withdrawal symptoms. it really does work, and it works quickly. i have seen patients come in in the middle of withdrawals, and an hour or two later, they are perfectly fine. the important thing is to be in withdrawal when you start the suboxone. if you are not, it will precipitate withdrawal.
this drug was approved by the FDA in 2002 or 2003ish and is really tightly regulated by the feds. any prescribing doctor (and they must have special certification to prescribe it) can only treat a maximum of 30 patients at a time. there is a great website that you can check out if you have questions etc. it is www.naabt.org
there is an online discussion board with people who have gone through the same things you are going through. you may find it helpful. there is
also a place (patient-doctor connection) where you can register anonymously, add your personal info (i.e. age, addiction, years addicted, previous attempts to quit, insurance, etc.). what happens when you register is that an e-mail will go out to all the registered doctors in your area telling them there is someone looking for help. if they have any openings, they e-mail you back and then....
the site has had a phenomenal placement rate with a really quick turn-around. give it a shot if you are so inclined. it can't hurt, as a matter of fact it will probably help! i hope this rambling is of some use to you. if you have any questions or whatever, you can get to me through captain zap.
