Oh Rob, I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. I remember that you wrote about him and had always hoped that you'll be able to visit him when you house arrest ends. That won't be possible anymore but I'm sure he knew that you would have if possible at all. Your heart will always be with him and he will be with you. Wyldflowers post with the lyrics is really beautiful and hopefully gives you some peace.

Brigitte

Blundervibes to you, Rob, and to the others in Marcus's family, for it sounds like you are family with him--are, not were. He lives in your heart and your good memories. Peace.

Yes, Brigette. Wyldflowers post was SO beautifull... And the lyrics to Don Con's song is tremendous.... Wyld and I had the pleasure of hearing Don Conoscenti, live at the Guthrie Center in May of 2003, at one of Arlo's HD walks. Don Con, is a very mystical speaker, and a great spiritual guide..ntm: A great musician, who is very original, to say the least!

Tx all of you, for you condolences. Expecially, Wyld for posting those lyrics to Don Con's song... They make so much sence... I'm going to copy them, and have them written on a card, to be sent to the calling hrs...

I was sorta an emotional train wreck late yesterday afternoon. My son called from Chicago, and we had a long talk. His voice sounded so down. He can't come home, as he won't have any free time, from his new job, untill after New Years, on which he wants to come home, with his family ( with baby Zoee in tow ) for his vacation...... I've actually never heard him sound so sad....

My wife came home from work, and you could cut the air with a knife. A deep sadness had hit our family...... If I had a best friend, it would of been Marcus. His only son, lived with us for the better part of 4 yrs. Marcus visited often, and would check up on things..... Spending allot of wk ends with his Dad, but he always wound up here. If he wasn't home, his Dad knew where to find him.... My son is taking this extra hard, as when they weren't here, they were there.....

Q-Tip ( Marcus's 23 yr. old son aka: Eric .... 6' 3" and 145 lbs soaking wet) Called me again, late in the afternoon. Luckily I had vented allot of my sadness & feelings of loss..... ( mostly bitterness, as I can't pay my respects ... All of us, were no stranger to Marcus's fate )....

Q-Tip and I talked on the phone, for the better part of two hrs.... I was glad, I had the strenght to sound as positive as I could for Q. Q, explained, that the bulk of this hasn't really hit him yet... He's on a Jet Liner headed for Syracuse NY, as I write this... Being in the Military, he has an extended leave, untill Sept. 5th.... ( His Dad's birthday was 9/4) So I'll be able to spend time with my friends son.... In fact, he's hinted around he might stay with me, for a few days.... He's talked about getting the old gang, back, to have a sorta vigal at my house...... I'm sure some good converstation, and just spending time together will do us both good.. He knows I will take his car keys, if he imbibes..... Just like when he was younger.... I guess that's another small reason, his Dad thought so highly of me... I always watched out for my kids, and Q-Tip is family, and he knows it!!!

Hopefully, I go to court on Monday, and get off house arrest. At least then, I can go to the Cemetary, and pay my respects... I want to bring my guitar, and play 'Where have all the flowers gone" and a newly learned "Streets of Laredo"..... It just seems fitting....

Wish me luck! Tx to all who posted. Tx again Wyld, for showing me a spiritual song, that is so relevent to what I'm going thru.....

It's easy for me to go off the deep end. You folks help me stay grounded. & I have to be there for Eric.. NTM: Accept life, for what it is. And not adding death into life's equation, isn't living in the real world. Sometimes it's just hard to let go....

Again I thank you most graciously for all you support!

RB

Prayers just said for his family & you too. Maybe someone could plead your case for them to let you off to go to the funeral. Good luck...

Rob, I'm sorry for the loss of your friend Marcus. You should know that the best respects that you can pay somebody is to share their friendship and love while they're here and it seems that you did just that. We regret when those we've loved pass on, but that, in itself, is a reflection of all of the love that we shared with them. And that love still stays with you in your heart and in your soul. Remember all the good things, man, because that's part of you, too.

When I pass on it would be nice if people remembered me with the good times we had and smiled. "Yeah, sad to see him go but damn! Didn't we have some good times! It was good to know him!" Don't know if that'll happen (I can be an asshole a lot of the time) but it would make me feel damn proud to know that I left some people missing me but at the same time smilin' 'cause they got to know me a little while I was here. Smile a little for Marcus. I think that he'd like that.

I've only just ot to the boards, I'm so sorry that your friend had to go through something as hard as that it must have been hard for you not to have been with him in the end, but as brigitte mentioned, I'm sure he knew you were with him in spirit and would have been there if you could.

I do hope that the judge will let you out for his Funeral, if not I'm sorry but am still sending you vibe for Monday.

Take comfort in knowing that your friend is not at rest. and no longer in pain.

know that you and Marcus's family are in my thoughts
Hugs and love
Bev
