You folks might remember my friend Marcus Green. I got stuck on house arrest, and one of my phobia's was Marcus, kicking off. Me not being able to attend his funeral...

* I'm calling my lawyer today, to have him request to the County Court Judge, that my attendance be permitted. I'm afraid it will all be in vain....

Marcus died last night, from complications, of Inphaszema..... He was all alone.... BUT, thanks to Hospice of St. Law. Cnt. NY, he was made comfortable these last 2 wks. on earth..... They cranked up the Morphine, and he had intravenous shots of Ativan, to quell his panic attacks. ( from being unable to take a simple breath)

*** His son ( who basically grew up in my home. My oldest boy Derek's best friend) Q-Tip, called me with the sad news.... We had a good talk.... I don't think it's hit Q yet. He's catching the next flight outta Montana, to Syracuse NY, ASAP... Compliments of the US Air Force.... Q-tip ( aka: Eric Green) did a tour of Iraq.... He's been home for almost a yr. & is now, fighting fires, out in Montana.... His out date is 2007, and wants to be a professional fireman.... ( Like his Dad. Marcus )

Marcus was a good man. He loved everyone, and everybody.. He had no enimies, and loved life. He was a brave man, serving in the Air Force, for 2 yrs.... He became a Fireman, untill his dissabiliting enphazema, took over his life. HE NEVER let that get him down... Even after having a lung removed, over a decade ago.... You could say, he was as brave as John Wayne... But he was a Peace Nick..... YOU all would of loved Marcus.... Marcus loved Arlo's music..... Marcus loved life....

I'm glad the end came quick... I'm sad I cant' be at his funeral, to pay my repects.. I was afraid of this..... Hopefully my son Derek will get to come home, and I will certainly see Q-tip....

As usually, thanks for your support.... I'm not in this alone. Marcus was very loved..... He will be missed by many!!!!

A sad day for Rob... But that's part of life. In all reality, I'm glad I can be there for his son. After all, this was his second home, for nearly a decade...

Say a Prayer for Marcus's Greens family..... Thank - you all!

RB :(

****************** Cold Morning Light****************

I believe if I was all alone
I would be better off in a world of my own
I'd never forget I had knew of you, and this dream
Everynite, that you pull me through
We walk along a Hollywood sea
And you dance once again, for me

We are close, we are friends
And our love, never ends
But in the cold morning light I see
That you won't be back for me

The wound you left is healing and then
It starts itching and I scratch it again
So the pain comes out, and I give in
And indulge my imaginations, whims
We sit and drink Victorian tea
And your face wears a smile for me

I was yours, you were mine ( friend )
Our hearts bound, lost in time
But in the cold morning light I see
That you won't be back
For me there can be no peace
For me, there can be no rest
I believe tho, that I've tried my best
I'm condemned it seems to a life of
Restlessness and broken dreams

Words written by T. Rundgren ( paraphrased by rb)

Goodbye my friend ( Marcus )

(((Rob)))

Sending loving vibes to you and to Marcus' family. He is at rest now, able to breathe easily.

I hope these lyrics, from Don Conoscenti, give you some comfort:

The Other Side

(from the album Paradox of Grace)

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

If you want to hear the song... go to Don's website: www.doncon.com and scroll down to where you see Featured Tracks, on the right...

Oh wow. So sorry to hear about your friend. I lost a friend in Dec due to heart trouble (he was a yr older than Arlo) and lost another one in Feb from cancer (in her 40's). It was so sad. I never dreamed I'd lose friends so young. Sure with they'd let ya out to go to the funeral. Prayers just said for you & your friends family. Hang in there. Peace...
