I guess I'm gonna have to give in and start using BitTorrent.... I am such a newbie when it comes to downloading stuff!

I'd like to use it (especially NOW!!) but I don't have a clue how to do this. I was at this WONDERFUL show and would LOVE to have a copy of it!! Can anyone help me, PLEEASE?? Just walk me through the steps ...

I'm such a dummy when it comes to this kind of stuff... I did download Bit Torrent, so I have the software to download, but I can't get into the site where the torrent resides... and I haven't got a clue what to do once i get there!

I can b&p this wonderful pair of cds since I reworked my download system to free up a couple of gigs so I can leave it set up to burn for a while. I can probably only get one set of cds burned a night. People want the music cds, not the .flac data cds, right? (oh EVERYBODY needs more flac, what was I thinking?)

First five people to send me a private message will get my p.o. address to mail me a pair of 80 minute CDRs in a cd mailer addressed to you with postage wrapped in a piece of paper with my address with postage. (not that I know how much postage is for a mailer with 2 cdrs in it.

You are so kind to offer this recording. Thank you. Being a total novice at downloading such stuff, I was really thrown by the procedure. Yet I was driven by memories of the evening so I kept at it. Then, praise the Lord, after 1/2 a day, I think I got it! I started by going to the link (www.dimeadozen.org), where I had to register. I didn't allow me to register for an hour or so because they were over their space quota. Finally I got in and realized I needed a host (BitTorrent) and spent an hour trying to figure out what the heck torrents and seeds and all the other funny names are (I still don't know). After downloading it (hours and hours), my music readers (WMP, Realplayer, iTunes, etc., didn't recognize the format, so I looked up the suffix (flac?) in the Preferences and found I needed something that would support it, and found that Yahoo Music Engine would. So I downloaded that and, Voila! Now I'm trying to figure out if I can stuff it all onto 2 CDs so I can hear it in the car. The CD burning notice tells me it is over by 2 tracks or so on the Side B. Hmm. If anyone's got a shorter route to downloading it, or burning part 2 successfully, I'd be interested. Again, many thanks Musicsherlok for your work.

Do the blank cdrs say 80 minutes? (they come in different sizes.) The second cd is just shy of 80 minutes.

Yes, the step one in using bittorrent is to be desperate for the music. Step two is to google every word that doesn't make sense, like bittorrent for instance. Step three is to get more hard disks than anyone could ever use only to find they are barely enuf. At some point you look down and there's a cd in your hand!!?! Step four is trying to remember what the heck you did.

Boy oh boy, its great being able to listen to the new songs!

No prob...I'm just playing a small part in archiving these unique and historic performances.

Use Nero if you got it...check the box to eliminate gaps between songs and you should be all set...if you need to, put the first and second tracks from disc two at the end of disc one which is only about an hour long.

Instead of Hard Disc space, of which you should have 5GB available at all time, if you have a DVD burner you can store six or more shows in FLAC/SHN format on one disc (4GB).
