i may have been cutting a swath through the ozone layer due to garlic ingestion, but my table mates didn't abandon me...thanks again cheryl and sue for saving us a spot! (we would have been in there about 30 patrons earlier, but we didn't know our number had been called)
it was also nice meeting mom and them :) ...great show! (mom has setlist covered, as noted)
after reading cliff's post somewhere earlier about the new poster, i knew i had to see it...and the only way to really see it was to get it...and then have it signed :) (thanks arlo)
i've put it in a frame and it looks beautiful.

sweetpea, i don't know.

Wow, didn't realize Adam was at our table. So much going on I wasn't noticing the back as of the able as well or I would've said HI. Sorry about that.

Here is my story of my trip to the show:

Here's the details of my trip to see Arlo. On the way up we stopped off at the Country Cookin Restaurant in Fredericksburg, VA which is a chain of restaurants they have in VA but they don't have any in our area. They do have one in Lynchburg & one in Roanoke & I've eaten at both. IWe like to eat at them since they have none in our area. We had to hurry to the concert place cuz it's a sit where you want to place & first come first served on the seating. So to get front row center you better be the first one there We were gonna save seats for Sue & her daughter, Agnes & Don & Mom (Brenda) & her family (who are all really nice folks btw). When we got there there were a few folks there already one of which was Sue who saved us a place in line. She was waiting for her daughter who would come later as she came after she got off of work. We had fun visiting while in line. I got to play my mountain dulcimer & 2 canjos (can banjos-- banjos made out of coffee cans) some which are a few of the instruments I play. We've gotten to know Gordon a side session musician whose been backing up Arlo in his shows the past few yrs. He was there & we got to visit with him some. He's a nice guy BTW.Arlo flew in cuz some of his upcoming shows were too far away to drive. So we didn't get to see his busdriver Michael. Guess we'll see him next time. Got to talk to a guy who drove Arlo in & drove the bus for some famous stars. Think he drove bus for Toby Keith the country singer. Usually when he comes to the Birchmere, it's in cold weather. So it was nice to not be freezing waiting outside. At 5 PM they let ya inside the place & you get your tix from will call & a number which they call numbers when they open up the concert place for you to go in. So we got to wait inside until they opened up the concert place. Arlo got rich off of us lol he had out a new poster & sticker & I got both of them. Mike got Arlos new cd for me the Live in Sydney Australia one & Gordon's new cd. They sold out of Arlos new cd pretty quick. 6 pm was time to open up the concert area & us & Sue were the first 3 folks in line so Sue made the mad dash to get our front row center table. She was great at holding the table cuz so many folks wanted our seats. Sorry but this was the blunderite ( the name for Arlos fans) table lol. :) It was nice meeting Mom Brenda & her family. They are nice folks! You can eat while waiting for the show so we both got burgers as that is the cheapest thing on the menu & food is pricey there. The Mammals a group that has Pete Seegers grandson was supposed to be there as opening act but weren't. Maybe we'll get to see them another time. The show was great. Don't have the set list handy but Mom posted it so you can see it in that thread.

BTW, if you ever go to the Birchmere the only place that cellphones work is outside or in this one ladies restroom & you have to cock your ear to the wall to get it to work lol. And Arlo had on jeans, a black longsleeve dress shirt & black leather vest. & Yes I snuck in a camera & got some pics. Shhh, lol...

We had a nice time seeing Arlo, his son Abe & Gordon after the show. They are all such nice folks. It was so nice seeing them again. I think they were kinda uneasy about doing their next gig which was a Psychologists Convention in DC the next day. We wanted to go to that gig but couldn't because in order to go you had to buy tix to the whole convention which were $200 a person & we don't have that kinda money. (We need to make friends with Donald Trump) They wouldn't sell ya just tix to see Arlo only either. Bummer but what can ya do. We are already looking forward to our next Arlo shows which are in Sept at Roanoke, VA one day & Charlottesville, VA the next. We'll probably drive on home after the Charlottesville show to save $$$. More on the rest of the trip.

We spent the nite at Woodbridge, VA as we've been doing lately when he comes to Northern, VA cuz the cheapest motel in the area is there & it's a little partway home. On the way to the motel we stopped at a Denny's there as we've been doing lately when he comes to Northern, VA to get something to eat. & While eating we had fun reminiscing about the show. The next day we went to the Potomac Mills outlet mall in Woodbridge. We like to go there so whenever Arlo comes to Northern, VA or MD we hit it when we go there. We like to hit the Penny's Outlet esp. We had breakfast at Silver Diner which is a neat 50's type diner we like to eat at up there. We saw on a tourist brochure that Jimmy Buffets Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurants had a location in Fredricksburg, VA in the stripmall area so we got dinner there. Cheeseburgers of course! We stopped for a bit at the mall in Fredricksburg, VA. The only reason I like to stop there is they have a Deb store with the womens plus sizes & our Deb Store doesn't have the plus sizes. Then it was onward home. We had a great trip & can't wait until the next Arlo shows. If he comes anywhere in your state, go! You won't regret it & will have a great time!
