1/2 asleep on the couch, I heard Woody's 'Mail Myself to You' sang like a jingle advertizing the U.S. mail. It's a real treat. Even tho 1/2 asleep. I'll be looking to hear this one again when I'm fully awake!

**That has always been one of my favorite Woody songs. Very imaginative. It goes right thru being a childrens song. Kinda romantic. Least I always thought so. Keeping things light, & simple, adding a touch of wit & humor. It's just a perfect song for all ages!!!

I have seen and heard it several times here in Houston. I don't know who is singing it but it is a neat ad. I think we'll be getting to hear it a lot the closer we get to Christmas because it is the Post Ofice ad for the Christmas season.

I love it! My 4 year old grand daughter loves it. When she starts getting cranky in the car all I have to do is put in the " This Land is Your Land" C D with Woody and Arlo singing all the childrens songs. She starts to wiggle and giggle and sing along and the next thing I know I start to wiggle and giggle and sing along. Then we look around and everyone in all the cars around us are cracking up laughing at us as we wiggle and giggle and wave our hands about. It is great fun to watch the fun spread from car to car. Music is amazing medicine. You don't even have to hear it to be affected by it. Sometimes just watching people singing and having fun is enough to put a smile on faces. I love it ! ! !

I heard that commercial tonight and logged on to see if anyone else caught it. I'm not sure who sings it either but I'm looking foward to hearing it again.
The first time I heard the song was on a Fred Penner tape of my daughter's. She loved it when she was little.

I've listened & listened. All I can come up with (and I'm awake now BTW) is maybe 'Cat Stevens' is singing this?

*What ever happened to that guy? He was being followed by a moon shadow, & he sort of dissapeared..... If memory serves me, he went to live in India & became a philanthropist????

still wondering tho? I've noticed out of the two commercials, they seem to be hanging with the latter one. It has more of the song on it.

Lee. I used to watch Fred Penner show allot. My kids hated it, they'd be out in the back yard playing, and I'd be inside watching & listening to Fred & his funny bird. He did lots of Woody covers. Allot of Cowboy songs in general... Gotta love a grown-up that acts like a kid.

I first saw it today. The hammer dulcimer going in the background is
the giveaway. It's John McCutcheon off his kids album "Mail Myself to
You" (1988). You can see his website at www.folkmusic.com. You

Marc, thanks for taking the mystery out of this for me! I'll give it a worl. Does it sound anything like Stevens. I thought so, but am sure glad you shed dome light on the real singer. He does a wonderfull cover of Woody's song. He puts the jingle in it that's for sure. Can't think of a better theme song for the Holiday season!!!

whew'd da knew. This song had a magic reality to it when I first hear it. This isn't the first time this has actually happened, altho It might just be the happiest ending of anyone pulling off the stunt...
