Country Singer Waylon Jennings died yesterday of diabetes. He died from complications from diabetes at age 64.

I saw this on the news & was so sorry to hear this as my hubby & I are both diabetic. My hubby Mike has most of his records. He was the narrator on the 70's tv show the DUKES OF HAZZARD which was a show I always enjoyed. Peace & God Bless...

Waylon Jennings was a true hero. Words cannot begin to explain my sympathies. To his family...friends...the world.

Waylon has always been one of my favorites. I listen to him alot, I find his voice very soothing. I regret that I never got to see him perform live.

An observation from working backstage at 4th of July Picinics in the 1970s (seeing, but not meeting): Waylon Jennings lived life to the full. Quality over quantity, every time! We'll miss him, but I doubt he missed much in this life.

I never was a huge fan of country music. Most of my country hero's are all from the old school. Buck Owens, Porter Wagner, Lefty Frezzel, Hank Snow, Don Gibson, ect. ect.

*Waylon had a free spirit, that not everybody gets away with. Story's I've heard, his bark, wasn't 1/2 the bite. What-ever the case, Waylon Jennings you surely will be missed!!! Who knows? Maybe he's jamming with Buddy........!?

i have it on good authority that waylon did NOT narrate the dukes of hazzard....though i believe he sang the theme song....

he'll be missed!

Im sorry you didnt get to see him in person, he did a great show. My fondest memory of him was at Westbury which is "in the round" A lady kind of followed him around the stage for a few minutes with a camera. He finally stopped and looked up at her (a little annoyed, but still polite) and and said "Mame, you might as well take it now, cause it's not gonna get any prettier".

I told my friend Viv, that Waylons passing, to me, is like a big door being slammed on that part of my life. I will hear him and miss him forever.

PS - Sherry, you are correct. Although sadly, some people only know him from that silly "Dukes" show, (which is ashame as it was only one little trivial thing he did in his long, incredible career)...he only sang the song, he did not narrate the program.

Sounds like they gotcha all confused Cheryl, but here you can be confused and right at the same time. No offense to Sherry or RegFaith, but it was in fact Waylon Jennings voice that was heard on The Dukes Of Hazzard tv series (doing the narrating) for the 6 years it ran. If I'm wrong, then just shoot me!.... using blanks and poor aim! Speaking of wrong.... "Wrong" is a great divorce song recorded by Waylon 'bout 12 yrs. ago on the Epic label. It's on a CD entitled, "The Eagle". One of Waylon's best recordings. It's Out Of Print and hard to find, especially now.

who knows...maybe he is up there jamming with Daniel Pearl (if indeed Pearl is dead)....who from all accounts was a decent fiddler....

It's been in the news since yesterday. A video showing the stabbing death of Daniel Pearl was sent to authorities, although the body has not yet been found. He was brutalized pretty badly on the way to that.

ok...i stand (sit? LOL) corrected...i did the research and apparently my source was incorrect and waylon did indeed narrate the dukes of hazzard...

i apologize for any confusion i may have added to....though it's my job!
